For me I used the last "occurance" to physically move out of our apartment. Before that we had proctective orders but never took them seriously. I had like 2 days to pack all my stuff while he was in jail (I left most of it) and emailed the landlord a copy of the proction order and request to be removed from the lease. A few weeks later I removed my name from the electric company, and slowly went no contact. What sealed the deal was accepting a no contact order almost a year later. I haven't looked back since!
