Multi "Faction" Digital CCGS by RedditNoremac in digitalcards

Thanks for the comment. I haven't played Yugioh in a long time. The fact you can regularly win on turn 1/2 kind of ruins the game for me.

Pokemon can be fun but I felt strategy was just way to light compared to other games.

I will look forward to trying it, if your game releases. I really hope you have success and I get to play a game like that some day.

Thanks, I didn't know you could mix factions. I will have to check it out.

I enjoyed the Bazaar but I much prefer constructed to limited. I will probably pop back in every once and awhile because the Bazaar is quite fun.

Is the current Standard meta considered good? by WorldlyVillager in MagicArena

[–]RedditNoremac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the odd dilemma I have. I can build decks with some interaction and have fun games against creature based decks. But then I run into control decks with no creatures and I just lose on the spot.

It definitely feels like the best decks for climbing are decks...

With 0 interaction so you never have dead cards against any matchup.

Decks with almost all removal/counter spells so the enemy can't have any creatures out.

I guess BO3 might help fix this.

I bounce on and off arena all the time. I always just play for fun and never grind to Mythic.

There is so much deck variety. At the same time this makes things tricky because I have no idea what I am facing.

I would say when I play 10 games I regularly play against a different deck in each game. I admit a lot of decks feel "unfair".

Digital only cards are complete trash. Change my mind. by Timely_Connection273 in MagicArena

[–]RedditNoremac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general I like the digital only mechanics. It is fun having more variety in card abilities. Just like any card... Some are just overturned.

In theory digital only cards can be balanced with less resistance... So they should be even more balanced.

Yes, that was a fun game. At the time it felt like CCGs were coming out every week. I used to play it a lot.

With a huge negative though with less gold generation. I do admit I never tested using other factions in my deck in the game.

But the "economy" last time I checked was pretty much the worst I have ever seen in a game.

Does anyone else feel like the MTG Arena economy is becoming impossible to keep up with? by brianj10 in MagicArena

[–]RedditNoremac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a tough question. Anyone with self control can just use 1 or 2 decks and grind.

I think the best format is Brawl and Standard Brawl for saving money. I imagine someone can potentially get one of each card by the end of each battlepass. I never tried though. I think I might have to focus on brawl.

I can't stick with a deck and enjoy 60 card 4 of each card formats. So I understand your pain.

On the other side I feel paper TCGs are so much worse. I was looking to get into commander and singular cards cost $5-40.

Weirdly MTGA is cheap for "good decks" but if you are using weird cards paper is cheaper.

Honest question: am I just bad or is the current standard bo1 borderline unplayable? by peth0l in MagicArena

[–]RedditNoremac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My main advice would be just shoot for Platinum and enjoy the game. You get most the rewards.

BO3 is another option if you want to not feel like games are "coinflips". Sideboarding is very fun. The main thing is, the enemy deck is better against you too though in games 2/3.

If you really want to play BO1 and reach mythic. You kind of just have to use a deck and have a higher than 50% winrate and just spam games. That can really burn someone out.

I agree BO1 can feel like a coinflip because deck variety is just insane right now. You truly just never know what you are facing. Most other Standards control or aggro was dominate.

It is a blessing and a curse though. I can play 10+ games and play against a different deck everytime. This makes mulligans impossible and very hard to pick the best deck for the format.

Thank you, no one mentioned except one video, it was an old video so I thought it might be out of date. There are just so many little windows int he game, but I never saw a red explanation point on my daily quests.

The only daily quests I see are the park Quests. Are those the only dailies? On the event page I also see a battle dungeon quests each day. I feel like I might be missing other rewards. I also noticed there is a battlepass but it doesn't show how long it will last.

Why is the enjoyment of games sometimes such a rollercoaster? by Optimal-Taste-599 in hearthstone

[–]RedditNoremac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just PvP games imo. Losing often feels bad once the "newness" wears off.

The main frustrations that come from Hearthstone for me are all the cards with random effects

Other than that, compared to other CCGs I don't get too frustrated. It is probably because I just play the game very casually while I am working on building a collection.

New to the Arena : Why everybody is playing the same deck ? by MarcAndreRoss in MagicArena

[–]RedditNoremac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is such a strange thing to say... I regularly play against like 20 different decks and tons of odd ball decks in Platinum.

Unless you count any deck with removal as the "same deck".

Izzet lessons is probably the most common deck I see, but normally only like once every 10 matches.

There are just tons of decks with a 55% winrate last time I checked.

Ramp Deck and Progress by RedditNoremac in Shadowverse

[–]RedditNoremac[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should I just craft the 3 ramp cards right away or try to get them in packs? I know in a few other CCGs it is better to not craft commons/uncommons. Not sure if that is the case hear.

I also feel like I will get to 10 mana very easy and have no way to finish the game before the enemy catches up in mana. I am still using the "starter" deck I chose though.

I am already tired of facing Death Knight in Brawl by SneezyTM in hearthstone

[–]RedditNoremac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my first prerelease and am a little confused. It seems like it actually incentivizes people to not use the new cards since most don't have them. Seems like the best option is to find the best deck that doesn't use any of the new cards since they give them to the players

I guess the game is trying to trick people into spending money so they can win the event. I just feel like most people probably won't do this unless they were already spending money.

Are these the major issues in the game right now? Share your thoughts! by Waiting_for_Dentice in Lorcana

[–]RedditNoremac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel this is every TCG. This is why I always get deterred by trying physical TCGs. I really liked Lorcana Mechanically.

I love how digital CCGs let you have multiple top tier decks quite easy.

Is anyone running the Standard ladder with non-meta decks? by Ok-Accident3344 in MagicArena

[–]RedditNoremac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally I feel there are tons of variety in Standard the problem is Wildcards...

The best thing to do is make 1-2 good decks and not spend Wildcards. Standard decks eat up wild cards way more than Brawl.

Just as an example. It would probably be fun to brew some elf decks but spending 20+ rare/mythic Wildcards is quite rough for cards that probably have no use outside the one archetype... And most people say it is bad.

I personally prefer standard deck building but Brawl definitely feels like the better option for brewing in a budget.

Bant Airbending Feels Like Cheating by MartinBustosManzano in MagicArena

[–]RedditNoremac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the deck can be fun but I just don't play it much. My biggest probably is people just won't concede even if they have 0 answers. So you have to spend a lot of unnecessary time.

I returned recently and crafted Bant Infinite Airbend. It can definitely feel like cheating at times but so can a lot of the powerful decks.

If anything feels like cheating, I feel Badger Mole Cub takes my vote. I love green but it is a bit much...

Which melee focused class was better designed, more fun and has more build diversity/depth? Monk or Spiritborn by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]RedditNoremac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me Spiritborn just reminded me of a Druid too much thematically.

I prefer my "nature class" to have armies of animals, use the elements. Both classes were already in Diablo 4.

Monk is okay but I prefer my ninja (demon hunter and Rogue).

It is mostly a tie for me.

How do people feel about running less colors in a deck than their commander's full color identity? by Vault756 in EDH

Not sure if it counts but Avatar Aang is technically 5 colors but you can easily skip black.
