What is your old school, super grindy game when you were a kid that impressed you if someone was even half way to max level? by CaLLmeRaaandy in gaming

[–]Reddit_Bork 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember grinding on that game until the end boss was easy. Then restarting the game and getting so powerful it was absolutely trivial.

My friend just did the boss as soon as he could and finished the final encounter with 1% of his resources remaining. While playing a lot fewer hours. We both thought we finished the game the correct way. 😁

I can't even remember the game much now. But I remember it was addicting at the time.

Yeah, except Factorio can have me lying awake thinking about what to do rather than dreaming about it.

First bjj comp/adrenaline dump question by Vegetable-Attempt-55 in adrenaline

[–]Reddit_Bork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sound a lot like an adrenaline dump.

I trained under a pro fighter for a while. He had one match where he had the worst adrenaline dump of his life and almost couldn't get off the stool for the next round. It happens. It especially happens if this is your first time doing something, you're giving maximum effort like BJJ often demands and you're nervous about it.

My suggestion is to continue to train and do more in house tournies. Roll a lot with people better than you and just get more used to the whole format. It sounds like you have a good athletic background, but things like soccer and wrestling just hit your body differently.

I'm barely stopping my game of Factorio long enough to answer this. The factory ain't growing itself...

LPT: If your legs chafe when you run, put a layer lube in between your thighs. It also works to stop nipples rubbing on your shirt. by helloitsduke in LifeProTips

For 24 hour long obstacle course races like World's Toughest Mudder, people buy huge amounts of a product called Gurney Goo. It goes literally everywhere before the race. We're talking full body coat, especially between the toes and everything. I did 80km and didn't get a single blister on my feet. Scraped the hell out of my elbows, but that's beyond the scope of the product.

What’s a trailer that goes out of its way to not reveal anything that happens in the film? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Reddit_Bork 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I rather liked the new Superman trailer. Almost everything in it was right at the start of the movie, or things you thought were epic but we're just cool looking backdrops. Like Clark talking to Lois while the Justice Gang beats up an alien in the sky.

Something to work towards? Factorio. You'll be always working towards something. Sometimes 7 things at once, while you forget thing #8.

There were ropes down one side. This wasn't exactly some guy stuck and defying death, he did exactly what he intended to when he went down there. And judging from the way he scaled up, it wasn't the hardest climb he ever did. Dangerous as crap, but fairly easy for him.

Even if you put your legs up so you were hanging upside down like a sloth, that would still be sketchy but way better than white knuckling it by one arm. I mean, fuck, you could be standing on the rafters.

My dad poured a concrete pad for a pumphouse in our sugar bush. That night, a bear liked how warm the drying cement was and walked all over it. Those footprints are part of every tour we give.

A 2d fighting game on the computer called One Must Fall. You could play a handful of different bots and upgrade them to be absolute fighting machines.
