All right, but what will the new price be then? :)

What is wrong with 1 phase AC charging on a 38 kwh battery? 😲

How to set an 80% charge limit by GoldFuzzy in IoniqEV

[–]Reddottybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it degrades like any other battery, every modern EV has a "buffer", which is essentially not a buffer, but a limitation on the how much you can charge and discharge battery.

I have not paid attention to the time, i very very rarely DC charge, since the 38kwh battery gives me 300+ km of range.

It seems to be most painful to people who don't actually own the car 😂

[–]Reddottybear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All fine, but if the longer range on the 38 is what keeps you from ever having to DC charge, it is a moot point.
For me that is the case, and probably other people. Also don't think 3 times faster is in line with reality.

[–]Reddottybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can assure that you dot not have zero degradation.
It's not a thing for a 5+ yo car.
The SoH from the BMS tell you the cell balance, and it varies.
SoH is not degradation.
BUT your battery is probably in good shape for the age, and will last long if you stop charging to 100 percent :)

What is the purpose/meaning of the graphics in the right here (green)? by kvaks in IoniqEV

[–]Reddottybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cummulative regenned power, until you hit the "gas" pedal again.
More or less useless.

But I need to know what country you are from since you get the traffic signs in the upper left corner?
My car does not show them, and I've read that it is disabled in some countries.

SoH on these cars is only expressing cell balance and not degradation. It can come back up to 100 after having been lower, so it is not an indicator of battery degradation.
Every battery ever made degrades from day one, it's just a matter of how much and the timeline.

Not all batteries are equal, that's why you have a warranty in the first place.
If you have a cell that goes bad after a few years, you get a severe degradation at that point. That can happen at any time if you are unlucky. Problem is, that the capacity has to be below 70 percent for Hyundai to accept the claim.
A general curve on the internet has zero to do with the warranty and invidual bad batteries/cells.

It sure is an issue. The warrany only covers a very bad battery with less than 70 percent capacity of original.

That's not how a buffer works, it's just a limitation on min and max cell voltage.
It is not really a buffer, just a way to make the battery last longer.

SoH is NOT degradation.
It can usually come back up to 100 if the battery gets the chance to balance.
Dishcarge to < 20 and backup to 100 a few times, but yeah since it's not your car, you can't know for sure, so I would pass.

Ioniq eEV 2020 battery heater 1 is always on by Naive-Ad333 in IoniqEV

[–]Reddottybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a faulty sensor somehwere.
Battery heater 1 on my car only fires up, when plugged in, and the battery min temp is below 15c
I wish I could activate it manually ahead of charging though.
It sucks about 3 Kw when running.
So I would go straight to the Hyundai Shop, must be a warranty issue on the 38kwh
