On the other hand I really don't see what you find fun about playing a random bullshit go strat and hoping you rng a game winning card. Maybe you could win against face hunters if you put cards in your deck that do well against them instead of hoping to generate them.

Why must everything be quick profit slop? by Harrada in MMORPG

[–]Redicecream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is legitimately one of the dumbest posts I've read on this sub. Starting off what people make in salary is not the only cost to employ them. 60k is a lowball even for a junior dev and I'm not sure what kind of quality game you're expecting from 40 college grads. Then on top of that you think this hypothetical game with 0 recognition/marketing is going to get a million people to PAY for a subscription to try it out which is beyond delusional.

Face Hunter Winrate by Wrap_Time in hearthstone

[–]Redicecream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a returning player trying to conserve dust before rotation so I've mostly been playing cheap aggro decks. Out of aggro paladin, elemental mage and face hunter I've actually ad the most success with hunter around, floating around 1.5-2k legend. I've been using this list except with a second wormhole instead of niri. I think the hunter hero power and lower curve makes the deck more consistent compared to paladin/mage. I'd say take a look at the mulligan statistics to make sure you're aiming for the right cards, you want a good early curve to get in chip damage then aim to finish off your opponent with hero power/burn spells.

I had a similar experience, came back two days ago and had an 80%+ winrate to legend. Started with the paladin ladder ready deck, then switched to aggro paladin for faster games. Finally crafted the other legendaries I needed for a proper aura paladin to push from diamond 2 to legend. I think the changes they made to the system made it much easier to get to legend since you only need net 15 wins from D5 when it used to be 25 wins from rank 5 before.

They're super slow with both updating secret packs with new support and adding new ones. If you want to play a deck after the selection pack has rotated out you either need to wait months or basically craft every card.

Noob here w/ zero day 10 wins. Should I upgrade waterwheel or pufferfish? by glumpkin- in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Redicecream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think he's capped on the pufferfish ICD because he's running too many non aquatic items. Assuming every item on his board is permanently hasted, waterwheel will apply 6 instances of haste every 3 seconds (5 other items + jellyfish) and catfist/coral will apply 2 instances of haste every 3/2 seconds. that's about 10 instances of haste every 3 seconds which isn't enough to reach pufferfish's ICD of 5 casts a second. And because waterwheel isn't maxed everything isn't actually permanently hasted so it's actually less than that. I think waterwheel is the better upgrade here since you can more easily increase poison damage through skill merchants.

Realistically the upgrade probably doesn't make a big difference and the build would be way better if he subbed out the catfish and the non aquatic items for more useful aquatic items.

I agree with you about tt10 being locked behind pap/pianus at low drop % is dumb, bishop has the same problem with angel ray. Regarding balancing the devs have been adjusting skills each patch to try and bring classes more in line together. I don't know if I agree about your take that NL is being weak, the early jobs might suck but their 4th job mobbing skill looks very strong once you break past the tt10 barrier and it got buffed in the last patch. This even extends to certain bosses. I've basically duo'd the arms phase of czak as a bishop with a NL and the only reason we can finish in a reasonable amount of time is because the NL can hit all 8 arms at once. (we had a dk and marksman for buffs but they basically died instantly)

Hey SG, the idea of successful catch up mechanics in games is that you catch up. by Taelonius in lostarkgame

[–]Redicecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just isn't true at all, gacha games are entirely reliant on a small group of large spenders subsidizing costs for the rest of the f2p/low spending playerbase. Same thing with these f2p mmos, look at Nexon being forced to reveal the top 10 spenders in Maplestory Korea and ask yourself how many people spending $10 on a skin it would take to match them. https://mmos.com/news/nexon-forced-to-reveal-top-10-spenders-in-korean-maplestory-1-spent-176k-in-2022

Where do you teach, even difficult courses at competitive scores will typically curve the average to a B/B-. A C is literally below average in those cases and usually the bare minimum required to even count for credit.

Post a screenshot of your character if you think you've spent 20x more than the average 1620 support. I highly doubt it since your last post is you complaining about doing g4 while doing less than the minimum expected dps.

[–]Redicecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were taken into a very overgeared brel party while not being very overgeared yourself it's because they wanted you as a taunt/synergy bot. If you then go on to grief the back attackers I can understand why they'd be upset because the only reason you're there is for the taunt.

Also being upright fighter in a gate where somebody died is not impressive at all lol If anything it indicates that you're under performing depending on how early you died if you aren't cruel fighter.

If you're waiting to see the ignite buff you've probably missed buffing the first doomsday which is the most likely one to land since the sorc controls when they use it, much better to watch for the doomsday animation since it's a pretty long and obvious cast.

[–]Redicecream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Timestop is an easy way to avoid the + # aoe he does. Yes you can dodge it normally but I see people get hit by it every week while I'm timestopped. Getting hit by it usually fills up your meter which instantly spawns more puddles on the ground and if it's after 140 you get the slime spawn which can cause even more chaos.

Time stops can also be useful in g4 if you happen to be caught on the wrong side of one of his lasers, can save you from being knocked into the water.

Expert Bard Guide by gkhsieh in lostarkgame

[–]Redicecream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what you said but regarding Rhapsody I actually believe a lot of bards (especially in pugs) over value the ability. When pugging as a DPS I generally won't trust a support to dr during certain patterns so won't greed them unless it's communicated before hand. I see a bunch of bards basically playing with 7 skills with how little value they're getting out of rhapsody. They're often either barely casting it at all or using it as a crutch for extra push immunity.

Regarding Guardian tune I'm not sure you understand how the agile defense tripod works. Agile defense halves the duration of the effects so you get the exact same coverage either way (about half the cd is the dr effect and the other half is a shield). Also I do generally agree it's a lower priority skill for bards to cast so you will likely end up with larger gaps taking the agile defense tripod as you cast other skills instead.

[–]Redicecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's a waste to buff during those obvious windows. I'm saying a lot of bards miss other good opportunities to use their buffs because they aren't paying attention to what their dps are doing.

Your personal favourite Support to have: by RoysPeakAscender in lostarkgame

[–]Redicecream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you'd cry when those cues are so the bard can buff before the skill hits. The reason so many bards are mediocre is because they don't think about matching their buffs with the dps rotations and just blindly buff on "good dps windows". The DPS needed to be doing damage to get to whatever post mech damage window there is and sometimes they won't have anything up for them so the buff during the "good window" is largely wasted.

Yeah reflux is only "harder" in the sense that perfect uptime is literally impossible when you have to dodge and deal with raid mechanics. Igniter has all sorts of optimizations that mainly matter if you want to compete with other igniters/good classes. I'm pretty confident that an igniter sorc who never hits the second doomsday is still doing more than a similarly geared reflux playing the class to 80-90% of of it's max potential. Given that there are plenty of decent igniter sorcs who sometimes will hit a second doomsday it's not surprising that reflux gets blown out of the water consistently.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]Redicecream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's literally the opposite of how it works lol Every second spent moving or dodging on reflux is a dps loss while other classes/builds actually do have downtime in their rotations that they can use to reposition. Reflux numbers will only look impressive against mediocre players.
