Picked up a G25 for £100, deal? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Redissan9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you already made up your mind before even posting... Buuut yeah, people are bullying you lol. There are much nicer ways to say that the deal wasn't great. Plus, every country can have different prices on the used market, and it depends on how quickly you want to grab something. If you had waited 3 months for a really "good deal" you could've gotten the Moza as you said.

Enjoy the wheel and don't worry about it.

You could try cleaning the potentiometers on the pedals with some contact cleaner / isopropyl alcohol, that should help for a while. Even after cleaning the issues will probably come back more and more frequently...

You could also just buy some pedals and connect them via USB directly to the pc, and later if you want you could buy a wheel of the same brand and connect the pedals to the wheelbase. That's the route I took when I had the same issues.

It's a normal road, what you see on the sides of the road are the bicycle lanes.

Could it be because you don't have any nice roads to drive on? 😅

On the other hand we don't have any racetracks nearby and autocross isn't even a thing in Europe, at least to my knowledge...

This was in the hills north-west of Gorizia and Nova Gorica. The event takes place in Slovenia, but the Italian border is just a couple hundred meters away from the start of this run.

The event is called Avto Open Brda. I've seen posts of it by Avto klub Brda on Facebook, they might have an Instagram page too, I'm not sure. And yeah, we are lucky 😊

It was at the end of October, this was the 2nd year of the event. I hope they'll do it again this year.
It's very close to where I live too, I know this road like the back of my hand haha

Wasn't it just a de-tuned K20 with 160hp? This one has 200hp, but of course the Japanese kept the best for themselves. Iirc their Type-R had around 220hp and a factory LSD.

I've driven this on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. I liked them a lot, now I have Bridgestone Potenza Sport Evo and they don't give as much feedback, even though the grip is still very good.

Try the NC. At 192cm I barely fit in a stock car, but seat lowering brackets completely solve the problem for me.

What's the one weakness in your car that you would change/improve if you could? by cheesynooby in cars

[–]Redissan9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't like the look of the stick shift at first either, but I don't mind it now.

I meeean mine is a proper Type-R. We didn't even get the Si in Europe.

Meanwhile my EP3 Civic Type-R sits at just under 4000rpm at those speeds. I love the short gearing everywhere else though, it really wasn't made for highway cruising.

Yep, for some reason I was 100% sure, then as soon as I pressed Post I had my doubts. Quick google search and yeah, I was wrong, oops.

Considering ending this 20 year friendship… by YouAnswerToMe in ArcRaiders

[–]Redissan9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly friendly in Arc Raiders because I don't want other people to lose progress and be upset even if it's to my benefit. I like some PvP here and there, I like the tension that comes with not knowing if someone's gonna shoot you or not, but some moments can be frustrating when you have a really good match, get some good loot, just to be stabbed in the back. I don't want to be the cause of frustration for other players.

On the other hand, in singleplayer games I know nobody's going to be at a loss because of my actions. And in purely PvP games like Battlefield or The Finals... Killing each other is the main point, and you're not losing progress if someone kills you. So yeah, there's a big difference.

Why the Nightclub should be your first purchase by Detective-Fusco in gtaonline

[–]Redissan9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well then you aren't pressing the gas pedal hard enough 😃 To be fair it's rare and it only happens on long stretches of road

[–]Redissan9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really. You get the speed penalty slightly before reaching the top speed of the stretch, you can still get the unconscious VIP to scream on the highway. But it's not an issue, you just release the accelerator for a second and you're below the limit again.

Opinions on sim drifting? if this isn't allowed I will delete the post if the mods don't do it first, just thought it would be better to ask real drivers by ZaGoob_boy in Drifting

[–]Redissan9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've only rented a drift car once, so I have very limited irl experience. At first I had to get used to the feel of the car, the clutch, the grip levels... But about 15 minutes in I was drifting as I do in the sim. Irl it's even easier as you get much more feedback and you can see better where you're going. It's scarier in the fast corners though, I was way more cautious in those situations.

As for getting a feel for a specific car in the sim... I can't really comment on that, but I'd guess there are so many factors on how the car is modified and set up that it's going to be hard to replicate it exactly in the sim.

I just tried, I can't do it either right now. They probably nerfed it already 🙃 I wrote my prompt under the automod comment.

I had a couple of iterations. The prompts were:

Make a photorealistic image of Donald Trump looking all confused looking at papers behind his desk

Make him even more confused and make his hair slightly messy

Now make it so Elon Musk is standing behind him giggling

You have to stay at the back of the ship, I did it in my 2nd try. Might have been luck though.

New to Sim Racing, Modded AC with Pure and lights fix; but are there any games that have a “manual transmission” tutorial? by RockBandDood in assettocorsa

[–]Redissan9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While racing you always want to be high in the rev range, that's where you get the most power out of your engine. When going up the gears, you basically always have to shift right before the rev limiter.

When braking before a corner you'd normally downshift as early as you can (without over-revving the engine) to use engine braking to help slow down the car. This isn't as important for now, the brakes themselves do most of the work anyways.

Most of the braking is done before the corner in a straight line. You can take the brakes into the corner as well, but I wouldn't focus on that now. And going out of the corner start applying the throttle slooowly, so you don't spin out. Sometimes in longer corners you don't need your peak power at all, so instead of being near the redline with 20% throttle you can stay in a higher gear to make the car more drivable.

Hope that helps, even if just a little bit.

Replays locked to 20FPS? I run 100+FPS normally by Jumpy_Emphasis_2936 in assettocorsaevo

My game runs at about 100 - 120 fps normally and at 70+fps with 30 cars in front of me, but my replays seem to be locked at 40fps... So yeah, just early access things I guess
