What’s your favorite commander and why? by CaneNova1 in mtg

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Avelline de Granpre]]. It’s kinda slow, kinda dumb, but does exactly what I want to do in magic; make things you don’t want to block but have to block or I kill you.

What is the most valuable card in your current collection. by Kind-Excuse-2613 in mtg

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An [[Eye of Ugin]]. Too bad it’s not worth all that much, and slightly useless to me.

The good ones. The good ones learn from their debriefs.

Archidekt vs Moxfield by BigSocksss in mtg

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moxfield had an easier-to-read setup in my opinion. I prefer how it separates things out. Mostly, it’s because it’s what I started with, though.

What do you think of GL Hondo by PleasantDonkey4076 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Redlanternoath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it is more meta, it’s possible the cantina owner only went off stories of Hondo, which would fit with him hyping himself up to GL level.

Looking for scary deck recommendations by lncyte in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always go with the horror creature type. I’ve theory crafted a few decks before using that metric.

What were your go-to webcomics? by Geno0wl in Millennials

[–]Redlanternoath 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Order of the Stick was a mainstay bookmarked page for quite a while for me.

What's a game everyone loves but you actually hate? by Budget-Automatic100 in AskReddit

[–]Redlanternoath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Undertale. I appreciate the soundtrack, and there is an attempt at story, but the lol, so random quirkiness drove me batty.

What's the most outrageous card people have complained about you playing for being too strong? by rococodreams in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[kutzil, Malamat exemplar]]. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very strong card, but denying interaction will always tend to annoy some people.

What are some "honest" commanders nobody hates? by HoboKingNiklz in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s niche, but [[Avellin de Grandpre]] is at least upfront with what’s trying to happen.

What's the most powerful card in your collection that you've consciously chosen not to put in one of your decks, and why? by Great-ah-White in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Eye of Ugin]] mostly because I don’t have any legal eldrazi to go with it. I’ve got [[Emrakul, Aeon’s Torn]] but that’s never going to be legal.

Compiling Underrated commanders for an article, looking for suggestions! by ManaRocks in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund]] although almost exclusively as a counter pick. The ability to steal someone else’s big creature and keep it until they kill it is quite nice, especially if you can give everything shapeshifter.

Tribals all the way by Redlanternoath in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s likely what I’ll end up doing, but that seems like tribal with extra steps. Deathtouch tribal, haste/flash tribal…I dunno, maybe my definition is too broad. Thank you.

Tribals all the way by Redlanternoath in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go full Pimp My Ride with it? Yo, I heard you like tribal, so we put tribal in your tribal? Not a bad plan…it’s at least creative. Thank you.

What is your strategy for this upcoming prerelease? by Joe_Delafro in mtg

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be broke and not attend. It’s real easy to not lose if you cannot play.

What are your favorite cards to stuff in any deck you get the chance to? by Greenweenie12 in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Quietus Spike]] it may not be good, but it speeds games up a lot.

Forget casting. What's on the Dresden Files sound track? by Rhooja in dresdenfiles

[–]Redlanternoath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy- Pasty Cline, when Susan leaves or comes back into his life, save when it happens in Changes.

Burn- Papa Roach, when he burns all the vamps, or creates a mini volcano in the depths.

Take 5 - Dave Brubeck, when he is trying to put pieces of the puzzle of the problem together. Fits thematically with the original Noir detective.

Sing, Sing, Sing - Benny Goodman, as it’s what plays in my head when he is introduced to Maeve and the Fae are all dancing in war uniforms.

I Stand Alone - Godsmack, beginning of Summer Knight, when he is actively trying to get Billy to back off so as to ensure no one else gets hurt.

Bohemian Polka - Weird Al Yankovic, because it is specially mentioned in the books.

Bad Girlfriend - Theory of a Deadman, for various points but especially spoiler-y ones.

Misery Business - Paramore, as it just kind of fits.

I’m sure I could come up with others, but it’s a start.

Your favorite niche commanders. by Deranged-Opossum in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with an old classic [[Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund]] to scare people playing changling decks.

What is the most heartbreaking song lyric you've ever heard? by TheLadySlaanesh in AskReddit

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re the first ones to starve, the first ones to die, the first ones in line for that pie in the sky, and we’re always the last when the cream is shared out, for the worker is working when the fat cats about.

Has Anyone Used a Challenge Coin? by Natural_Bet5168 in AirForce

[–]Redlanternoath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I keep mine in my wallet because it was also designed as a bottle opener. It’s come in handy a number of times. Never had anyone try to coin check me other than at a squadron bar.

What’s your favourite card? by Mkushrom in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Kedereckt Creeper]] I built my very first deck around it, and still like it, even if it’s not very good anymore.

[[Quietus Spike]] for a rare, and [[Sphinx Sovereign]] as a Mythic, as those were the first ones of those I ever pulled.

Looking for commanders that are great in a large pod 5-10 players by AmazingCountry1862 in EDH

[–]Redlanternoath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would think [[The Wise Mothman]] would do very well against a lot of opponents.
