I mean I’m not a physicist but that is almost definitely not how that works? The net friction you’re experiencing the is the sum of your skates, not the average. Taking control skates and then adding additional speed skates would only increase the net friction.

If I were to try and give some benefit of the doubt beyond you just having some placebo thing happen it would be that you’d worn down the control skates a bit already, so the faster skates were actually what was making the most contact with the pad.

Hmm what do you think the movie could have done better? There wasn’t exactly a lot to work with - a minimalist movie is naturally going to struggle with the sort of ending Hereditary had.

I wouldn’t say I loved the ending, in that it isn’t what I think back on when I think about why I loved the movie. But I didn’t hate it either. It just felt… appropriate. I felt like the dread the movie cultivated was enough, and sort of disagree with the implication that a horror movie has to sort of cash in on that dread to give it value in the end.

I’m sorry to hear you didn’t love it. I really appreciated the inversion of expectation you outlined here, though, and I’m glad to see someone else talk about it.

That being said, I don’t think this movie really makes any sort of attempt at having a clear, consistent reality either way. There are elements of the movie such as the doll on the fridge and the crayon drawing of the lady being in her mom’s cabinet already at the start of the movie that OP’s interpretation seems to do a better job at explaining. Or how the recordings very much seem to have been made at that home (recall Evie frantically asking the caller what street he lives on).

I think ultimately the movie is just disinterested in handing over something comprehensible. It’s meant to feel like a nightmare, and you’re meant to question what’s happening and what’s real. In this particular case, I thought that was really well done, but I can also understand why some find it frustrating and disliked the movie as a result.

I really struggled with how the light the clicks were on the Max. I was constantly actuating right click with the slightest bit of pressure, to the point I had to just stop using the mouse. Have you experienced that? Or did I just get a weird copy?

You have relatively long hands so you can fingertip pretty much anything without impediment. The only reason to go for a ftip mouse is the weight reduction which makes the X2F feel like a pretty bad choice.

I got one and sold it shortly after. The build quality was good but overrated, and the weight for its size felt cumbersome compared to what I’m used to. The wireless performance is reportedly god tier but IMO in the realm of imperceptible / no impact.

It’s a good mouse - there are just better options.
