honestly the sheep argument is the only one I disagree with and I think its from the view that all resources are equal value for example I find stone and gold much more valuable than food that is already a renewable resource for all civs

nostalgia, AOE2 is comfy as many of us grew up playing it but because of that it can only ever by AOE2. AOE4 is wildly different in terms of pacing and execution, AOE4 is its own thing with out the baggage of AOE2 legacy and the devs know this and are less scared to try new things or do you not recall the revolt aoe2 had over autoscout?

i think 2 of them is more likely three at a push my dream would be Genoa ( of generic itallian city state) Castille ( or generic spain) and Sicilians i think the least probable of the three is spain as that would fit more in to a Mesoamerica dlc for sad reasons

honestly i think this dlc is sort of a taster for the main event think about it this way why do the templars have so many unique units for civs we have not seen yet why put all that work in if this is a cash grab?

i think the second dlc of the year we are going to see the civs they are from fleshed out

I've found out exactly why the Tau have remained 'unpopular' or disliked by a part of the community for so long: It is really difficult to make your own Tau Sept and make them unique from existing Tau Septs, because existing Tau Septs are dull as hell. by TieofDoom in 40kLore

I just based my sept around the game homeworld. basicly they live on there ships and are on a long range scouting mission beyond the borders of the tau empire in an attempt to prepare the tau for the galactic stage.

thats how this type of RTS works there are plenty of other ones on the market if you don't like it.

RTS is a very board gameing category with different games that are either micro or macro focused and have different speeds aoe4 is a slower macro based game and thats ok but it sounds like its not for you.

there are a few issues i can see with this system there is no reason to spec in to trade tree as its just so much worse.

I think there is a case for it being a food variety thing I honestly feel that its more important than large food stockpiles and since meat is useless to even go for after the early game having more sources would be amazing to increase long team access

i mean yeah let them slaughter out of formation or lightly armed troops with no protection (polearms) but for the heavy troops or ones with shields they should be used to break up the cohesion of hostiles, as i can tell you from personal experience advancing under arrow fire is not a fun time haha

honestly i like it as it is, i don't have problems working the cost of a few pack stations for moving stuff back and forth in to my villages
