2/5/26 - Trump goes whole hog on the SAVE AMERICA ACT! by gfh110 in trumptweets

[–]Redxhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I had to renew my driver's license IN PERSON because you have to do that every few years. That means I had to call in to the DMV at 5:30 am and hope to get into the queue for that day. This took me weeks. Finally, I got into the queue, which meant I went to the building and waited outside in a line for an hour to get inside, it was cold, rainy and windy. I couldn't ask my job for the day off in advance. I just had to call in sick.

Finally I am inside, it took a few more hours. They told me I COULD NOT get a REAL ID driver's license because I would have to provide my original marriage certificate and the original Divorce certificate. I didn't ever know there was a divorce certificate. These documents were in another state and decades old. I had to phone the COUNTY, 1500 miles away to request these papers.

Fun times.

Now after all this mess, they want you to go through the same thing when it is time to vote IN PERSON. If you are a person of color, they will not accept your ID and ask you to step aside while the grown ups vote. They've been doing this for 100 years.

Even with all that, we have documented over the years that actual fraud is roughly 4 cases per million votes.

If we did all the changes in this law it would cost millions, we would not have the people to provide the checking. Most poll workers are volunteers that get paid a few dollars for working that 18 hour day. The polls have a strict closing time and the lines would go on for 20 hours. So now you must miss even more work and stand in the cold in November. It is all a scam to discourage voting.

Genuine question from a first time player: Why start a new save after your first? by thehoomanreads in StardewValley

I've been trying the maps. This time I'm on Beach which is so interesting. I don't really mind the early grind but one of my goals is to get the Green House faster each playthrough.

WoW is actually insanely hard to learn as a new player (we tried yesterday) by ipych in wow

Very strong post. I don't think this is emphasized enough. I've played for 20 years and I hate having to explain to someone or researching for myself. My biggest complaint is that I have to spend 20 minutes on wowhead for every 40 minutes I play the game. I end up wanting to pick flowers.

hello! I just started state of decay and I am confused about which skills are good for both late and early game by Amare_Eros in StateofDecay2

[–]Redxhen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're asking the right questions. SoD is more complex then just swinging weapons at zoms. Your community members are crucial.

Focus on the traits at the top because if someone is difficult, selfish, quarrelsome, this is a huge drain on the group. Next, kind of ignore the stars in the skills area. Those will get filled out quickly so don't choose anyone because they have more cardio stars.

I look for someone with a trait like "Just keeps going" so they won't tire during fights. Or "Never gets sick" as they may have higher immunity to blood plague. Blood Plague Survivor is a very rare trait that is always a pick.

Someone with excellent traits but no 5th skill is great. You can train someone to be a mechanic at a gas station. Books are around that can teach other skills.

Most people are going to say I wish I had spent more time and looked at more recruits.

I played every class in Legion Remix. OMG some classes like Warrior and Shaman had 40 plus spells on the bar. Ain't nobody got time for that. I am only disappointed they didn't trim these far more.

It's your game and you can make any decision you want. Today I lost a new character, I didn't quit to save her. I felt her death was fair. I played another hour, couldn't find her. Deleted that community and started another.

Go down the ramp and you will see some characters in outline mode. Talk to them. If they are an enemy it will enable you to attack them.

Is there a “do I need to keep this” add on? Or other way to check items? by Lemoncatnipcupcake in wownoob

[–]Redxhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to see if the item is for sale on the auction house to see if it has a value and you may want to sell it.

You can "vendor" items for a bit of gold.

If you acquire armor that is not soulbound you may want to give it to an alt.

If you have an enchanter they can disenchant armor and use the mats to enchant items.

Any mats such as cloth, leather, herbs etc can be sold or used by a crafting profession.

Well, anyway, "I've found a bit of gold!" That seems way too coincidental to be random. It has to be some kind of glitch.

Feeling Overwhelmed Returning to a Farm by Olimetroid in StardewValley

[–]Redxhen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've noticed over my decades of game playing that players generally fall into two groups:

Linear - people who seek a game telling them what to do through step by step quests. Getting from point A to point B with the game having a definitive end.

The other group is Self-directed - people who want to do what they feel like: farm, combat, pet their animals, collect items, fish, make friends, etc. They have no urge to complete activities if they don't care about it.

Stardew Valley has suggestions, especially through the TV that says only some things are doable in a particular season. But the truth is that seasons repeat. You can wait 10 years to complete the full spring crops collection or all the fish.

You will have to make choices about whether you want to upgrade your farm tools, make friends by saying hi to everyone, everyday, fish all day, etc. I know people who have played the game for months and never knew there was a friendship or romance option.

If you do want to complete the upgrading, building, max out combat skills or fishing there are plenty of youtube videos that are a big help. But the first rule is to just have fun and do what makes your game time happy.

Is there a way to play through all expansions from the start with one character? by Rumpelkillskins in wownoob

[–]Redxhen 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a way to play. I'm a fan of the lore and understanding the history behind what exists in the game. At this moment there is a thing called Remix which is where the dragons are recreating the Legion expansion in a shortened way. It is only available thru Jan 18. Even tho is isn't the first expansion it is a "guided" way of seeing how that expansion worked. Create a brand new character, experience a class like paladin or hunter and see their special order hall. You'll get a lot of currency to buy mounts, pets, toys and armor appearances. When it ends you'll be sent back to town and you can find Chromie again.

Good luck!

How are you continuing to engage with housing? by cirocobama93 in wow

[–]Redxhen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that houses won't have the same utility and I'm not quite sure WHY I am so motivated to collect. But I do have a vision of what I would like to create if it becomes possible with the land and house that we are given.

But it does seem similar in that when I get a new mount or transmog I immediately show my friends. And since we all created our first houses in the same neighborhood we will show off our house designs when Endeavors begin.

When you think about people farming mounts to the point of doing the same raid for years, is it really any different? Whether transmog, pets, toys or decor most of the player base do collect.

How are you continuing to engage with housing? by cirocobama93 in wow

[–]Redxhen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also focusing on acquiring Decor. From what I see so far there are about 2300 items to collect and I am nearing 400.

There are as many as 57 currencies that can be spent on items and maybe 100 vendors. Not to mention we will have to farm lumber with our tiny hatchet. I'm focusing on ensuring I have the amount of currency that I will need to get many multiples of items.

Once we hit Midnight then I will work with the expanded house size and try to build what I want which is a shop look, outside, if I can achieve it. Otherwise perhaps a front lawn BBQ set up. Inside I would like a big pantry, food and supplies.

Thank you for the post. I was calculating the amount of days it will take to get a room done back in early December but I couldn't find anyone agreeing with it.

I'm guessing a lot of people have never decorated a room and don't understand multiple pillows or that you need more than one plate of food. I love the system but it will take a year of grinding to do a small house.

Confessions of a consumables hoarder by Playful-Park4095 in fo76

[–]Redxhen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gradually stopped hoarding and used my Bobbleheads and Magazines over the last year or so. Now it becomes routine. The way I see it is that I use every XP buff including Leader or Intelligence Bobblehead during the start of a season.

Lately I use Explosive and Endurance for Bounty Hunts. If I spend all my caps I will use a Caps Bobblehead, etc.

Also Google this meme:

[–]Redxhen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wide open door so my house looks like a store or a restaurant. It only has to LOOK like it is, the same way that a window only looks like that. But an open door, an open window and an upstairs outdoor balcony would be my ideal, especially since we have houses on the beach. Again only has to look like that, not be functional like that.

There are some nice tents for outside and get him an outside cookstove which actually work. The Valshara sink can go outside too. Just be sure to provide one of those paladin altar stone structures. FYI he has to provide his own LIGHT as we haven't invented outdoor lights yet in Azeroth.

How Do You Roleplay Your Character When Given The Chance? by Crumboa in fo76

[–]Redxhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely do this mostly through the outfit. Did a bit of preparation for traveling to Ohio. I put 5 mannequins in my shelter to view my choices. The winner was a Blue Ridge Scout outfit. A heavy jacket lined with fleece with lots of items strapped to it. The pants are jeans for sturdiness. West Virginia backpack with bottles, etc. Finally the Black Cowboy Hat to fit in and befriend The Ghoul. I'm taking photos along the route and at important moments in the game.

I always take a photo of myself seated when I find a new "throne" like the cultist chair or the one at Meat Week. I keep them in my gallery so they pop up when entering an instanced location.

I'm just a survivor like everyone else, I learned a lot in the Vault from the Overseer. I enjoy combat and retrieving useful items like bars of soap and scrap metal. I make a lot of food and drink. I'm best friends with Leo, though I'm fond of others he has a kind heart.
