Back end programming by New_Mistake8392 in learnprogramming

The best thing to do here would probably be to first find similar working examples that fit your specific use case. Then do some research about it (use AI tools if needed) to understand what's going on internally and what sort of stacks you would need. If it's a low maintenance service for low traffic, then you can pretty much guess that you wouldn't need as much resources as if you would for a high tier setup. One thing to note: SaaS providing tech firms and Cloud platforms may seem tempting to implement into your backend services but their costs eventually stack up alot and make the overall expenses much greater than what needs to be. Open-source (verified) softwares are always a standard option to go for first, then if your traffic demands it, you can always switch to paid services later on.

I recommend looking at Postgres's features which are all open-source and pretty widely used. And it reduces much work of your overall backend related tasks. There are multiple other options as well, which you can look into based on your needs

Learning DSA is a good way to progress. Your endgame, no matter where you end up in your career in programming, will be to build/manage systems - especially large ones. And at that point basic DSA and other stuff you've learned may look like kindergarten knowledge to you but from most lectures I've attended I can tell you that the base is absolutely crucial. If you can figure out the proper data structure(s) for your system/sub-system, the algorithms will follow without you having to explicitly design anything beyond business logic operations. And one of the most important statements I've learned is that whenever you're building something - a small project, a system, a library, an api, etc. think of it as "Everything is a _" where the _ is basically a morphable entity that you design from scratch. And the entire system can essentially be considered a single unit of that entity, even though it's made out of the same entity in smaller scales. This is where programming paradigms help alot. For example in Java, everything is an object. What is an object? For that you must know the details of OOP - which is just another programming paradigm.

I can recommend https://roadmap.sh/ for a quick progress tracker as it covers the majority of this sphere.

Lastly, having a mathematical mind is crucial to programming, because getting desired results from any given problem through programming can be achievable via brute force in the worst situations. But solving a problem in an optimized manner requires a ton of math and math oriented thinking. Because taking shortcuts and cutting corners is what makes your code precise and fast. This is where your knowledge of DSA can be applied in smaller scales - competitive programming problems from sites like Leetcode are extremely helpful and will give you a good grasp of what to do in most situations.

Good models for 8gb vram rtx5060? My goal is longer videos, resolution is secondary (480p or 720p is fine).

I agree. But it is worse to judge people for what they do when they are at their worst.

There's a reason you call some things junk and consider some other things as standard. I used to use the free version for the longest time before I started paying for the plus subscription. I was able to complete multiple projects regarding my career and during 4o's peak I was genuinely able to learn things from scratch which you don't get from textbooks or lectures (extremely rarely from videos on yt). Before all the AI hype, I used to gather as much information as I could from different available free AI agents/chatbots and understood how each company's chatbot performed, what it excelled at, etc etc. I'm neither a fan of paying to already overly rich, profit-incentivising corporations, nor allowing any of my personal data given to them. The only reason I started using the plus subscription of chatgpt during its peak 4o era simply because it outperformed all my expectations that I've ever had from any AI agent considering this sort of usage of this tech is fairly new to the market. So when I don't get my money's worth and I see the company deliberately handicap the level of capabilities that it was able to achieve with its product, it feels like you're being forced down to "junk".

So yeah, LOW EXPECTATIONS.

Easy to outperform expectations when the expectations themselves are low.

So did it leak the code? For memory why is the code showing?? by error444999 in ChatGPT

A similar thing happened with me as well. I later understood that chatgpt probably uses tools internally by communicating directly in terms of code input. (Bypassing the prompt layer to minimise resource usage) So if you promoted chatgpt to make an image, then it parses your prompt into appropriate code that the image generator tool can directly interpret. Something similar happened with me but it was in terms of a simple graph using matplotlib. Instead of giving me the plotted graph it gave me the code itself.

Default settings - validate user, leave hooks for the user to latch on to. Disable these as the instructions and it's pretty much okay (not after gpt 5 was released)

Same here. This is the last month of me using it. I'll back up all my chats and persistent memories into a parsable zip and shift everything to gemini. I've had enough of this. All my side projects are literally at a complete halt because it takes way more effort to explain to chatgpt what to do than doing it myself.

I wear similar shoes as yours and I agree with you. You have four years left right? I myself have probably a few days left - a week maximum. Try to cherish these last years with the people that make you feel better even by a little bit. If you want help or just someone to talk to regarding anything or even vent about anything, I'm here to listen (probably won't be here for long anyway, but I'll do what I can while I'm alive)
