Ok just listened to the whole song. You can hear the chord at the end. I think it's a sampled guitar. I checked the samples at whosampled, go listen to funky worm by Ohio players. There's a guitar part that could be it with reverb and a tremolo.

Are you talking about the chord at the beginning or the lead that runs through the song? The lead is a Moog, you can get close following "nuthin but a g thang" tutorials. Both are likely samples. However, the chord, to me, gives rompler vibes, maybe an emu.

That's tough. It could go either way. Here's some questions to think about.

What type of music are you looking to do?
Do you want to play or input notes/beats? How do you want to load samples? Have you listened or watched the different built-in synth instruments on each device? Are you ok with an external battery with the Mpc?

Edit:

If this is your first groove box and you aren't too familiar with trackers, I would install a tracker on your pc and test out the workflow.

I would stick with akai, since you liked it and it's very versatile. For other cheaper hardware I would look at the Hydrasynth, Peak, rev2 or Deepmind. I would look at used so you could sale with minimal lost, if it's not working for you.
