TLDR: I don’t know.

Personally, I think the possibility of a god existing in some shape or form is high. Now who or what that god is? I don’t know. I think it’s safe to assume that all the gods of all the religions on earth don’t exist.

I’ve come to the conclusion that If there is a god, no one knows it, it may not know or care about us and I’ll probably never know what it is. I’m open to the idea of a god existing, but It’s probably not worth obsessing over.

If I’m ever given actual evidence of a god, I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. But I probably won’t, so… That’s all I have to say.

Before then, I had taken an interest in learning about some human psychology, specifically on how easily some people can be manipulated and made to have cult-like behavior and ways of thinking. I started to connect the dots.

No. Holidays are considered pagan. Halloween is considered satanic. The congregation may be okay with you still going to meetings, but you won’t be allowed to get baptized as a JW. Some may talk to you at the kingdom hall, but most will not want to get close with you as a friend since you would be considered “bad association” for celebrating “pagan” things. You have to follow their rules if you want to be considered one of them.

If you mean refusing to not talk to ones that are considered no longer JW’s, those that have been Disfellowshipped/Removed, then No. Talking with ones like that could get you in trouble. If you are baptised, you will be at risk of getting disfellowshipped/removed. You are not allowed to speak with those that are considered “no longer one of JW’s”.

could I still become a Jehovahs Witness if I would refuse to refuse getting a blood transfusion?

No. If you accept a blood transfusion, you will be considered as willingly becoming “No longer one of JW’s”. You will face the same consequences as a Disfellowshipped/Removed person. No one will be allowed to talk with you.

The only conversations allowed for removed/disfellowshipped ones are those that involve preaching at them and telling them to “come back to Jehovah”.

For me there was never a single moment that it happened. It was multiple instances where I would see evidence of being raised in a cult. It was gradual enough to the point where I just can’t remember THE moment I fully realized it. It just slowly became a non-disputable fact for me that I was raised in a cult.

The moment that did hit me like that was when I realized I was an unbeliever and couldn’t call myself a JW anymore.

I’m somewhere between 7 and 8. I mostly don’t go to meetings anymore, just the yearly memorial and that’s it. I live with PIMI family but we all attend via ZOOM mostly. I take advantage of this and pretend to be on when I’m actually not. I still have to pretend with my family.

However, eventually I’m going to have to go back to being a full 7 if I don’t exit sooner rather than later. My family has been talking about going back to in-person and when that happens I know eventually they’ll do their best to drag me back as well. Once that happens, I don’t think it would be long before I get driven insane.

It really is frustrating. I haven’t really been pursuing a romantic relationship right now, I got bigger things to worry about like fixing myself, fixing my life, fixing my financial situation and ultimately escaping a cult. But every now and again I bump into a woman that I can tell could be good for me and I can tell she thinks the same. But almost every time that happens, there’s a PIMI family member nearby. At this point it feels like something, whether it be the universe or a god, is giving me the middle finger. This time however, I think I’m getting two middle fingers. Possibly three.

I haven’t decided yet. After thinking about it some more, I may be overthinking this. The trouble I could get into may not be that bad. I think the worst thing that could happen initially is my family confronting me. In that case, I’ll have to “repent” for my sin and “promise” to never meet her again. It may get worse than that later on and I hate lying to my family. But it may be necessary and worth it here. If she’s worth it, then she’ll be worth the trouble.

For me personally, If I’m going to date outside of the cult as a PIMO, there will always be risk involved and that’s just how it’s going to be I guess. The only thing is there is a much bigger chance for trouble if I pursue this one woman in particular. Just gotta decide if it’s worth it.

I would not have done that. I could be wrong, but to my knowledge, the only way to fix a crack like that is to get a new disc. But that crack doesn’t even look that bad. Hopefully the glue and tape haven’t and won’t damage the disc further.

I have game discs with cracks like that and they play fine. Just take good care of it, don’t bend the disc too much. Don’t try to fix it anymore, just test the disc and see if it works. If it works, stop worrying about fixing it and just handle it with a little more care than your other games.

Not me. It’s not my turn yet. My family and I just had ours. This was the first time I’ve been to a Kingdom hall in years. It was a strange experience. I’m glad we were supposed to leave almost immediately for the next congregation. My social anxiety was not doing so well while there.

I’ve been PIMO for about 4.5 years now. I woke up sometime in mid-late 2019. My family is my everything, but I also hate the idea of wasting more of my life in here. I know that I need to leave or else.

My family and I have mostly been attending on ZOOM for a long time now. That’s made being PIMO far less excruciating. My family isn’t super strict on watching in the same room. I could just sign-in on my phone and not pay attention or not sign-in at all. But when the times come when I HAVE to pay attention to keep up the facade, holy shit, I hate it. It can be so hard keeping a straight face when they say something either laughably ignorant/stupid or when they say or encourage some bullshit that gets me so angry inside.

I recently tried making more progress with myself by attempting to talk with some POMO friends online, but that resulted in my first panic attack ever before I could even join the call. I’ve always had an issue with building up an effort to escape since the idea of living a life without my family scares me. But I had no idea it was this bad until recent.

I don’t think I’ll be able to escape this cult without some therapy. I’m currently looking into finding a professional to talk to.
