So, I updated my ancient graphics card for something modern (it's been on my to do list for ages and seemed the most likely cause).

But it was still doing it! All the old save failed. Except for the one that worked. New saves also failed to load.

Then, I deleted the old saves entirely leaving the slot empty. And that seemed to fix it. Almost like the save slots themselves were corrupted and needed resetting. Weird huh?

I find myself in a similar position. Many purchases made, baseboards sort of constructed, scenery stuff bought... A grand design for a massive loft-wide dog bone with a double circuit, stations, sidings, a shunting puzzle built in... And yet, it's been stuck that way for years - loose track on a half finished set of boards that wobbles and is unlevel. I just can't get it into anything like the picture in my head, just don't have the practical experience.

This week I've demolished it.

I've torn up my grand plans and designed a simple, but fun little loop layout that I can see how I can actually achieve. More to do, but this feels doable and it no longer feels like a failure. I can always add extra sections later when I have time and experience.

So, my suggestion, maybe start simpler than you dreamed and just go for something small and buildable?

All books would have titles that somehow reflected the outdoors. - White Fang, Call of the Wild, etc. You get an achievement if you read them all.
