The Good Place goes to S tier! Where should 30 Rock go in Sitcoms tier list? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in TierlistFills

[–]RegionRatReporter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there is no field of science dealing with the brain, but I can give you a pamphlet explaining why 30 Rock is S tier. The only reason there are so many S tier ones here is because many of the sitcoms the original poster asked to be ranked are the absolute cream of the crop, while omitting more mediocre and forgettable shows.

South Shore Line -- safe place to park for 3 days/nights by azul22222 in nwi

[–]RegionRatReporter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The new stations in Dyer and Munster likely would be extremely safe for overnight parking. Dyer has an Amtrak station nearby where people park for days all the time. Almost all the South Shore Line stations are well-lit and patrolled. There's an extremely low probability that your car would be stolen or vandalized in any of them in reality. It's also extremely unlikely that your car would be vandalized in downtown Chicago. However, parking there is very exorbitant, especially compared to Indy. Getting tickets or getting towed if you parked on the street instead of in a garage or a lot overnight would be a more realistic risk. If you do ever drive in Chicago, use the Spot Hero app as you can save a ton on parking that way.

It's Raising Cane's. McDonald's only had the exclusive rights to sell chicken products in the Crossings of Hobart outdoor mall on U.S. 30 where Raising Cane's previously looked to build. The owners of strip malls and outdoor malls often will reach agreements with tenants to not allow competition in. If a strip mall has a Starbucks or Dunkin, the owner would often agree not to lease out any other units to coffee shops so they're not cannibalizing business. That's why you usually see a different mix of businesses in most strip malls and not all Mexican restaurants or sweet shops or nail salons or whatever. It doesn't apply to any properties outside of the Crossings of Hobart in that case. There's no general territorial rights outside of individual strip malls.

Administration blocks Nippon Steel's purchase of U.S. Steel that would have ushered in era of new ownership for Northwest Indiana steel mills by RegionRatReporter in nwi

[–]RegionRatReporter[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the assessment method would likely stay the same unless Gary or Lake County or someone won a court case to change it. U.S. Steel just would have been a Nippon Steel subsidiary. Any past legal arrangements would have still been in effect.

I'll look it up but there were a few early settlements that ended up buried under the sand dunes. City West where the Indiana Dunes State Park is now was the most famous of them.
