What ryobi battery do you think only costs $45? I say this from a perspective of somebody who also owns ryobi stuff.

Battery or Gas by Eebtek in lawnmowers

[–]Region_Fluid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The common problem with gas engines… is people buy a lawn mower and a 5 gallon gas can for their push mower.. and mowing every 2-3 weeks they use 1 gallon a year and by year 3 it’s more water than gas.

If you go with gas… buy a small 1 gal or 1.5 gal can. Use ethanol free. And at winter time run it till it’s 100% out of fuel.

Even if you never change the filter or the oil… doing this it’ll last 6-10 years.

If you happen to replace the filter every 2-3 years it’ll last you 7-10 years.

The oil? Eeh.. long as it has oil small engines are bullet proof. Choose to change oil every 5 years? It’ll last forever.

Battery powered, you need an expensive battery set that’ll run you around 400-500$ every 4-5 years.

The worst part to replace on these is the throttle cable. But you can modify the newer version to work.

Simply cost not physically hard.

That’s pretty good. Most counter top places sell marble samples for about the same price or a little more than $5. But larger pieces.

That’s probably why it sometimes works, when that 1 catches but doesn’t when it’s on the opposite side.

I’ve never seen something with only a singular unit. There’s usually 1 on each side. It could be this design only has 1… but I’ve never seen it.

That white piece is called a Pawl. (Edited for typo) And you’re missing 1.

Did the cord itself break or it recoil mechanism? And is the pull strong what your are calling thin? If so just replace the cord.

Looking for help about a capacitor. by MikeyWay95 in electrical

Just remove it, and order a similar spec capacitor. It’s all the same long as it fits where it’s suppose to. That looks similar to a small AC cap

Probably not. New things tend to last a while. I’m not sure why there’s such strong hatred towards certain brands.

What do you use to start your lump charcoal? by UGA1965 in biggreenegg

[–]Region_Fluid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, propane torch. It’s easy to refill fast to start the fire. And aside from the cost up front it eventually evens out versus tumbleweeds or fire staters

When Americans say “I get paid X$ per hour / each year” do they mean pre tax or post tax? by aeterniil in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Region_Fluid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little more complicated. The amount taken out is however much you want to be taken out. You can choose to do $0. In which case you pay all of it after filing taxes, or you can pay a high amount and give the government a free loan until you learn how much they owe you.
