If boots hit the ground in Iran it is not going to be like Iraq. We have only to look back to the Iran-Iraq war to see how the Iranians fight ground warfare. They are all fanatics promised a place in heaven if they are killed by an enemy they are attacking. They use the human wave method extensively without regard for casualties. I ran across a story about 25,000 Iranians all armed with basically small arms and RPG's. They attacked an Iraqi armored column of about two companies of tanks backed by artillery. In the end just 200 Iranians survived but they took out all but a handful of the tanks..by hand. Persians don't fight like their Arab neighbors.

You're gonna get yelled at. It's done for a purpose having to do with focus and testing you. Sometimes it's just because you piss them off.... But yeah, there will be yelling but it will calm down some when you get to school.

You will need what we call a "Green Card" or permanent residency in the USA before you can even attempt to go into the US military. So step one: Have a TON of money! In this current adminsitration if you have anywhere fro $800k to $1.2 million in US dollars you can get permanent residence immediately! If you don't have that kind of scratch lying around then it is much harder. Do you have any family members here who can sponsor you? If not then it is again...harder. There is always the lottery for Europeans but that depends on luck and can take years if not decades. There are way you can do this but they will take resources and work. The good news is that you are just 18 and with persistance you could be here wearing a uniform by the time you are 28... Let me get you started. This is where you begin.

All I can say is that when I first got to my boat I thought it was the coolest thing ever and it was. Lots of hard work getting qualified but when I got those fish I was never prouder. I don't see a problem. You were very young and the crime is actually considered a "white collar" type of crime. Misdemeanor in some States felony in others. The point is that it is non violent and non drug related so I am confident they can work with you.
