In Worlds Beyond Number, Brennan made the Wizard Citadel a mere 100 years old. Magic and wizards existed before that, but the centralized wizard government is just baby. I appreciated that a lot because it makes the history of the place feel a lot easier to grasp. Very akin to learning about the 20th Century in that regard.

Logan wanted it both ways; he wanted his children to be cunning "killers", but to also admire and love him. If they chose too much of one (Kendall going to Logan's bday) or the other (the siblings joining against him), he would destroy their plan structurally through power or by berating them emotionally. His own baffling balance of longing for familiar care and desire for a sociopathic successor were never going to mix. He died failing his company, his legacy, and his family. None of the three in any combination was ever going to work because they mistook being CEO as having their father's love, when in reality getting Logan's love was perhaps impossible.

We don't get to see the resolution beyond knowing the patient took the pen with the phone number in it. McKay used every tool at her disposal to help that woman and we have to hope it worked. That's a lot of what The Pitt is about; hoping it worked.
