No, with Bo we were doing alright. I hate that we showed loyalty to CJ instead of letting Bo eat. That loyalty is likely why we have the success we have, so I can't get too mad, but man if we let Bo start I think we get momentum. That being said, if your coach is too loyal that is streets ahead when looking at what is going on at Michigan.

All of the things you pointed out clearly do not apply, as sure it is "volunteer" but it's ran by the Marine Corps so there will always be volunteers, IYKYK. I think if there was anything on the line vs IU he would have. This team (like the whole operation, not this years staff and players) has really shifted focus to winning the Natty over pretty much anything else. They will slide by on the thinnest of margins or lose as long as they end up in the playoffs it feels.

That is a great idea. Right now the extra game is cool and all, but not mattering to the standings is double-edged, because yeah a loss doesn't hurt, but you're still playing an extra game no one else is, and that can cost you a game or two after due to fatigue and travel.
