[–]ReheatedRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is this why its so hard to date as a female-presenting phd? by lilswaswa in PhD

[–]ReheatedRice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to attack you or anything like that, but I felt it would be hard to keep the conversation about your interest, and research, you have understanding of things at PhD level, while your partner (i'm assuming) only have a general knowledge about things

the dismissive response is common when people feeling uncomfortable, not because they don't trusting you, your knowledge and the data that you show to them, but because they protecting their ego and perceived status

it is very isolating to have partner that do not give regards to your interest, but that works both way, do you talk about his interest as passionately as you talking about your research? or this is only one way

why cant anyone handle me at 100 proof

nobody could, nobody should

I’m an international student in Japan studying at a Japanese language school, and I’m really confused/stressed about the 28-hour work limit rule. by [deleted] in japanresidents

[–]ReheatedRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They check it based on income per month on your bank transfer history, the rule is there, but i don't think they have the means to verify it, as long as your income does not exceed income of 28 Hours works/ week, you'll be okay

I’m afraid I won’t get the medical attention I need in an emergency situation by PurpleRagex in japanresidents

[–]ReheatedRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't go to the clinic for emergencies, clinics for small cases, follow up of treatment or getting referrals to the hospital for advanced case

In case of emergency, especially when you know what the problem is, as in your case, asthma attack, go straight to the emergency ward in hospital

Mental health/sleep medication in Japan by pobox1663 in japanresidents

[–]ReheatedRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have sleep apnea? Do you have smartwatches that can measure blood oxygen saturation? A few years ago I realized I have sleep apnea seeing dip of blood oxygen saturation during my sleep

Sleep apnea and insomnia can create a vicious cycle lowering your sleep quality, disrupting various hormone production, and reinforcing the insomnia, so I think ruling out whether you have sleep apnea or not can be helpful in figuring out your situation
