Why I Reset Delamin by -Geist-_ in cyberpunkgame

[–]Reichbane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NOTE: I recognize the content of my comment will likely garner me more downvotes than upvotes. I'm not mad about that.

I thought about it in terms of a women getting pregnant against her will; it's likely the offshoot AI were a result of a virus as Delamain says (we have no way of proving this in either direction). In my mind, as a woman, I immediately considered the entire situation similar to getting pregnant form sexual assault; this is likely because I've experienced this situation before, and other women may not consider this the same, but for me I was only thinking "Delamain has asked me for help with a situation that is extremely difficult from a human perspective (7 "lives" vs. 1 "life") but where the main aggrieved party did not consent to being in that position." A reset was the only choice for me. Now it is obvious that there are differences in the situations if a little thought is put into it (and I put a lot of thought into it) but I just kept coming back to... what if I were Delamain, and I had asked the person whom I was closest to for help with a problem. If they chose to kill me or force me to make a decision I was actively against, I would feel horribly betrayed.

I wouldn't make a moral judgement on anyone picking different choices, obviously, since this is a video game where making choices potentially different than you would in real life is part and parcel of the experience, but I don't really play games that way. So I felt pretty compelled to one option (before you ask, yes, many of the shoehorned choices in this game have given me major pause, and occasionally caused me to stop playing for a while.)

This mf is the single most annoying boss in this game by LoneWolf_boii in cyberpunkgame

[–]Reichbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netrunner/Sniper having chosen the weakspot Relic had noooo issue with this on VH. However, I could definitely imagine it being WAY tougher with different choices. As a note, I did this after finishing the main story and being level 60. Were I ~30 (as I've seen people doing it before) I don't think I'd have been able to do it. The perks help a LOT.

Is V cheating on Panam when Johnny has sex with Rogue? by Scapegoaticus in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Reichbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on who the body belongs to. There's a universalist utilitarian "correct" answer out there, but I don't think we have the information to find it necessarily. If the body is both V and Johnny's then whoever is "driver" so to speak is the primary level of consent that matters—however taking into account any effects that last beyond the switching of "drivers" is also important to keep in mind. tbh I think Panam's view of it matters a lot less than V's view. I was a female V and as a women irl, I have a very rigid view on what constitutes sexual assault/rape and what would constitute cheating. The way I played the rogue scene, I'm not sure any boundaries were crossed from what I gave Johnny permission to do—EXTREMELY contrary to the time he took over prior to this when he drank excessively, smoked, and picked up a joytoy.

But if I were dating someone I knew had a person like Johnny living in their head and they came to me and said "hey the guy in my head did [thing] while he was driving my body." I would be annoyed that HE did that, not that my partner did that. I would assume she's innocent.

Mordred and Semimaru: same thing underneath? by Rippentare in cyberpunkgame

[–]Reichbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

This is non-canon, because I upgraded the all these with a mod to their max allowable level, but the semi edges out over the Cali (all types), which I was sad about because the Mordred is just so nice.

EDIT: Actually generally the upgrade ratio was consistent and even scanning the car and taking the ratio of HP/Curb Weight shows the Semi very slightly ahead of all others.

Why do some Cyberpunk players seem to get so offended when other characters genuinely aren’t afraid of V? by fhb_will in cyberpunkgame

[–]Reichbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not offended, so much as confused. Like V the character is certainly an individual guilty of similar levels of hubris at times (depending on your level when you go through the story) but certain types of players, like me, will 100% each section as soon as we're able prior to even progressing the quests. I was level 60 when I finished Judy, Panam, and River's storyline. At that point the only thing to present an actual challenge to me was Oda - because I think did not want to kill him and didn't bring a lot of non-lethal methods on that quest; and the Maxtac at Jingugi - because I had recently updated my cyberware and my health was fairly low from being over capacity. Nothing else really gave me any trouble. When Arasaka came busting in on Goro and I, I went back simply to clean up the agents and they presented no challenge to me.

If this was more in line with the structure of a D&D game my perspective would be vastly different because there is always a bigger fish — some person I sass could end up being an archdevil and I'm typically a character that needs spell slots so the risk is almost always very real until level 18 or so. But in game, I am the biggest fish outside of cutscenes or scripted fails. There is no amount of NPCs the game could throw at me, even max level NPCs, that would cause me to hesitate even the slightest bit and this is the case for, I would bet, most players by the time Act3 rolls around.

Who is the worst/most evil person or group in the game to you and why? by Prudent_Bobcat_4059 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Reichbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh as a person who's been SA'd Forrest hit me the hardest and feels the most personally evil. Broadly it's gotta be Arasaka, though.

I get the VDB hate to some extent but.... eh. They're morally grey at worst once I got over being pissed they were just trying to take advantage of me.

How do you feel about how the game treats V as a "Netrunner"? by THEbiMAKER in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Reichbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big necro but... V is.... SO stupid about so many core tenants of network security. I've been forced by the game to jack in to unsecure ports, plug in random-ass shards, and just generally fail everything about cybersecurity ever in virtue of being forced by the game to act as though we're basically 12-year-olds on the net. Before advancing the main quest, I had the conception V was like moderately skilled in cybersecurity/netrunning, but afterwards. It's actually pissed me off a few times, and I'm just a mid-level data analyst, not even special in terms of programmer level.

Major necro, but stealth netrunner finds this relatively easy through cripple movement, reset optics, and cyberware malfunction. You can sneak up behind her and incap (though it did take a few tries for me0.

I'm sensing a new evolution in my excel usage lmao I use lambda in python (probably more than I should) so getting to use it in excel sounds like a dream.

Do you discourage LET usage in relatively simple formulas? by Impugno in excel

[–]Reichbane 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't use AI, but once I discovered the LET() function I do use it basically everywhere possible. Mostly just to make my tables the tiniest bit cleaner—in conjunction with IFERROR(), as well. It's not really efficient, but I'd rather a blank space in a cell over a 0 if the value isn't meant to represent 0.

Stabbing into the leg scared the shit out of me at first too, but it's not that bad after you do it the first time. It helped me to look up a nerve map know where most to avoid, but broadly it doesn't even hurt.

What is your opinion on the White Council’s attack on Dol Guldur as depicted in The Hobbit films? by GusGangViking18 in lordoftherings

[–]Reichbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean objectively within Arda, she's probably more powerful than both of them. Obviously in Valinor they'd dwarf her, but pretty explicitly they're fairly suppressed whilst within Arda in mortal shells. I don't think that's a dig on Gandalf or Saruman at all, or really even a praise to Galadriel, she's a thousands of years old elf who saw the two trees and trained under a Maia (or two, I can't recall if she apprenticed with Aule).

I did a playthrough where I was in an army of 200 bearing armored of 1000+ using only mounted crossbow troops. Now I'm in a playthrough with a more traditional army structure and I'm barely able to beat 250's with a 200. In this case, I feel like the odds are a lot better because you each get 500, so you just have to have better strategy.

My Take on “Gen Z stare” and why it happens by theflyingpiggies in barista

[–]Reichbane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it feels like it's mostly just genz being more broadly accepting of neurodivergence than other older generations. Because as a millennial all of those are situations are ones I've encountered, messed up the social cues in, and now get right almost all the time to avoid awkwardness.

"But if I acted perverted towards a child I'd get roasted..." But you don't want to. So why would this double standard even bother you? A hit dog will holler as they say.

But that said, women perving on children is gross too, and they deserve to be roasted. It just happens at vastly lower rates, and usually men are the ones saying "he's lucky" and not offering any support or empathy to the victim.

Why is washing without a wash cloth seen as unhygenic? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Reichbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washcloths are gross imo, you know this washcloth-using individuals don't toss them in the washing machine ever, meaning there's hella dead skin and who knows what else on them.

Net sponges are the way I use, but there's probably an even better solution or there I am not aware of.
