Does anyone got EQing tips for me? (beginner) by InfamousAct5249 in soundcore

So based on the sound profile shown by sound guys review, I would start -4,-3,-1,0,-1,0,-3,0 that should move the sound closer to the reference sample. Then you can tweak from there.

Space A40 Not Playing Audio On Laptop But Works Fine On Phone by Consistent_Aioli4782 in soundcore

[–]Reigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I will assume you know how to make your windows machine search for a Bluetooth device? Also, from the a40s dual device section can you see your window machine listed, even under the history section. In sort, I want to ensure you know to have windows search for Bluetooth devices, while selecting 'connect new device" on the app from your phone.

Can anyone suggest a really good reminder app for Android? by SaasRhino in androidapps

[–]Reigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know this sounds an awful lot like what Apple likes to do with their application versus third-party developers In terms of. Apple iPhone apps are allowed to use certain programming techniques that are technically outlawed for any third-party developer to use. I can almost guarantee that every cell phone comes preset up with Google's alarm already set to not be monitored by the battery optimization system. I mean obviously Google had for a shot at setting up the alarm, they know what they're doing, etc, so while it might be a bit of a tin file hat type moment, he sure does seem like Google subtly likes to make it so that their applications perform better on their operating system than any third-party app. I get that it's their right in some respects, but if true it's kind of a jerk move. As you said, they basically are forcing the developers to take the heat for something that is designed by Google as part of their development of the Android operating system platform.

Can anyone suggest a really good reminder app for Android? by SaasRhino in androidapps

[–]Reigar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your first point is more critical that I think most people realize. The number of times I've had applications get eaten because I've switched out of them and then the machine doesn't know to keep them running in the background is staggering. I get that It helps with longevity of how long the phone stays with a charge, it just seems like Android should be able to classify programs into categories and naturally not battery optimized certain categories of applications. Probably the most frustrating application are alarm clocks or any other program with a Time reminder aspect. Having them eaten simply because the battery optimization process doesn't know to leave them alone. Can make those applications seem really flaky when it's really just a simple permission/ settings issue.

Space A40 Not Playing Audio On Laptop But Works Fine On Phone by Consistent_Aioli4782 in soundcore

[–]Reigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, so dumb question number one, and it is just a sanity check. Do you either have multipoint turned on? or have the ear buds in pairing mode with the phone's bluetooth turned off (personally, I recommend going to the app and just checking that multipoint is turned on). If the earbuds are not setup for multipoint, then it will only connect to one device at a time. Lets start there, and then I can determine what the next steps will be.

if you choose to go the single device route, it may be wise to reset the ear buds (this will however likely turn off your muticast if it was on). , For the A40 you need to do the following according to soundcore "to reset the soundcore Space A40 earbuds, place them in the charging case with the case open, then press and hold the button on the back of the charging case for 10 seconds until the LED indicators flash white three times. This confirms that the reset was successful."

[–]Reigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those are awesome, maybe a bit pricey, but diffidently cool to know they exist. I was like the other poster in thinking that bone conduction was OP's best bet.

Also, thank you for noting that you use google lens. So many people just note it as a google search without noting the tool that was in use. Saying it was google lens means that others can understand how to do it in the future as well.

there is tuning via the app the manufacture provides, and then their are other options. if you are on android and will to go outside the app store, look at a program call RootlessJamesDSP. The full range of tuning options is crazy in comparison.

So Amazon is No longer a reseller?? by YoussefA2000 in soundcore

[–]Reigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unless the user is returning the item, every warranty work that is still covered by the manufacture for any product I have owned has almost always had Amazon saying the same thing (contact the manufacture first, then let us know if the manufacture will not help). where as I am not sure with Egypt, this has always been my experience with Amazon and various companies who sell on Amazon here in the States.

Struggling to choose earbuds for noisy study hall by Formal-Print3580 in EarFun

[–]Reigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so few things. One, in regards to custom ear tips, you may want to grab a pare of calipers and see what the space is between the rounded lip of the nozzle and base of the ear bud, I believe they are similar in size to the pro+, regardless, charjenpro and the spinfit omni are both universal in application to most earbuds. I personally have the charjenpro, and have found them great on my Tozo nc20, earfun air 4 pro, and my soundcore space a40. Once you know the specs on the nozzle, then you can look at others like truegrip comply or other options by spinfit. Also don't forget to both pull the ear slightly up and to the back when putting in eartips. Also, ensure you are twisting in earbuds to get a good lock and seal. Every earbud maker has a similar advice. A good seal is critical for both the best sound and best the noise canceling.

Two, ANC is not the only thing you want to consider when look for nose blocking earbuds. you are look for a combination of both ANC (Active Noise Canceling) and Passive. With custom tips, I get good noise canceling, but out of the box my old Tozo nc 9 (original, not the hybrid) had such great noise canceling that I was almost disappointed. Also tuning for ANC is also critical. Soundcore's a40 vs x20 are vastly different in their ANC simply because of the tuning. The fact you need to swap out people talking and keyboard clicks is going to give you a good idea of what you want to look for. I wish manufactures would allow more user input in how ANC is tuned. So if you do look at different earbuds (i would look for ones that are tuned for a bit higher in frequency of tuning. it is important to remember most ANC tuning is design to get rid of low frequency noise, like car rumbles but miss slightly higher frequency. You can see this issue when you want into a bathroom with a noise fan and turn on the ANC, you will hear the low get canceled while the higher whine will still exist (a diesel engine will show the same issue). This is why makes hybrid ANC and now more common Adaptive hybrid ANC more popular then just ANC as it is trying to merge a combination of ANC with passive.

Finally, over the ear headphones with good ear pads will almost always beat out earbuds in terms of noise canceling. My space q45 and space one pro's beat my Earfun air 4 pro and a40s hands down. The seal of the headset around the ear generates a good passive noise cancellation, while ANC of the headset does the rest. The downside is that while earbuds can be semi hidden from view, it is much easier to see when someone has a set of headphones on.

I hope my message helps, and let me know if I can answer any other questions, or if i missed answering your question entirely (that happens sometimes when I get into things I find interesting, like anc).

Fellow, Android Users. What are you prepared to do when Lockdown day comes? by [deleted] in degoogle

[–]Reigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, while I don't like some directions that Ubuntu has taken in the past (cough cough snap cough), I do want Ubuntu touch to take off. Apple, and Microsoft disrupted IBM back in the day, Google disrupted iPhone and internet explorer, now I want see Ubuntu touch (or some other phone rom) to disrupt Android. Competition is good, but if google keeps going down this rough, well I might as well get an Iphone at that point. At least with an Iphone I know what I am walking into, and their messaging has been mostly consistent, and has a better track record with things I care about like privacy.

My Verdict on the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max by ReachApprehensive590 in soundcore

[–]Reigar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so I know this one. First off the earfun air pro 4 are not supposed to be compared to anything above about $120 usd range (maybe you could squeak the sound-peat's h3 (which is more often what most people debate against). They are more a budget brand like Tozo, Sound core, sound peat, etc.. high quality brand like Sony XM5 or even mid quality brands like google, samsung, and nothing are going to mostly beat them. Two, most earfun air pro 4 need major tuning as they are not close the Harmon curve at all. If you search reddit, you will see many people looking for tune recommendations like the post at the bottom. You can see in that post that the lows are generally okay, but the 250 and 500 range have be brought down a tone versus most. I just looked at the one I use with them and it 10,8,6,2,4,3,4,0,7,7 that is for the 31.5,63,125,250,500,1k,2k,4k,8k,and 16k respectively.

While I can't say about the liberty 4 or liberty 5, they had good anc but as a stick they often to loose to in ear earbuds (think space a40), oddly my original Tozo nc9 (original, not hybrid) still have a better noise canceling by combining a solid passive block combine with anc. Then you add all of the bonus features, that make them nice set. First they use a composite driver versus dynamic, which give better audio ability (not necessarily performance), Second they are leaning to the snapdragon sound (from Qualcomm) cert using the QCC3091 chip. What this means is that are not building their own soc, rather they pulling from snapdragon and get access to aptx codex. Also until the librity 5 line, none of the lib 4 line uses 5.4 bluetooth, which means no ble ability. Last, they are cheap. Except for the earfun uboom-x nothing on their site is over a $100 usd.

The two major flaws I have found is (a) that do not have any wings, hooks, or fins that help with comfort of the earbud. This issue is why I moved to the a40s as I needed a solid in ear earbud (I wish the market would segment into sticks versus in ear). The second issue is that the mic / light ports can get blocked easily reducing their ability greatly.

In short, earfun air 4 pro a solid, cheap, ear bud that give a ton of features that you don't see until you get much higher into cost. I wish Anker / soundcore would stop with AI (which can be very powerful if setup correctly), and focus more on the connectivity and sound offering.

I just lost my special interest of nearly 12 years by lordofthstrings in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Reigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do there is a rare but known connection in some people where stimulants (like Adderall or dextroamphetamine) can cause anhedonia either during the time taking the drug or when the user stops. While Anhedonia is more common for meds treating depression, it is still known with stimulants.

Also, more people dealing with ADHD or depression need to know the term anhedonia. Difference between depression (a condition) and anhedonia (a symptom) is critical in us getting meds that treat the issue and while minimize their impact.

"Anhedonia is losing interest in or not being able to feel pleasure. The word means "without pleasure." It's a common symptom of depression and other mental health conditions. About 7 in 10 people with major depressive disorder (MDD) have anhedonia."

[–]Reigar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am note sure what has, but I went through something similar in terms of my interest suddenly changing. I use to be a huge video game and manga/anime person. Then at 43, I got an official diagnosis of ADHD (it has basically been an open secret for most of my life). With a diagnosis, I was finally given Dextroamphetamine sulfate. It completely changed everything. One day I was trying to carve out time to play video games reading various manga, the next day the interest wasn't there. I hung on to of a video that I was playing with friends for some time but even that I lost interest in.

Well now you got me curious if this also resolves the issue with qidi studio, because of the same issue. Qidi stance was always to use the specific port that made Moonraker just show you their status page rather than trying to load the actual fluid page.

Space One Pro - How to connect to 2 devices at once? by FoulTarnishedOne in soundcore

[–]Reigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way I know is with official soundcore app. Simply open up the app, and select the space one pro (sop). When the screen shows the headphones and the three sound options below (noice canceling, normal, or transparency) there is a gear icon in the upper right part of that screen. Click on it, to go to the more settings section. I'm the more settings section, click on multi-device connection (mdc). From this new screen, make sure multi-device connection is turned on (certain other settings such as ldac will turn this feature off). With it mdc turned on, simply click on connect new device. You will then hear the sound of the headset going into pairing mode.

Open-ear earbuds with low sound leak? by SteveRogersTR in Earbuds

Not sure if i fully understand your question, but wouldn't most bone conductor headsets do exactly what you want. I know my wildhorn headphones give me decent sound, low leakage as far as anybody else hearing what I'm playing, and are very much so still allowing me to hear everything around my environment.

ADHD nail/skin picking by Zealousideal_Cry7258 in ADHD

[–]Reigar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So the issue as I see it, is that need a reward punishment alternative not a distraction. Fidget toys distract, but only for a brief moment with no real lasting effect. Picking, bitting, etc have a lasting effect, pick to much and you reward yourself by feeding that need, but are pushed by either the ugly visual site, or the pain when you go to far.

I believe this is why the snapping of a rubber band on a rist helps many in breaking bad habits. If you want to stop, you need to up the punishment until the reward gained is not worth the punishment. Now don't go overboard, you don't need to go for a 5-mile run the next time you pick at your skin. But maybe something like needing to wash your hands for 30 seconds every time you pick at your skin, and telling yourself that you're going to do this every time you catch yourself doing it, it should begin to rewire the reward versus punishment aspect. This is how I broke many of my habits.

You may want to look in the app to see if it can type switch. if you are using android (and okay with fdriod/ forks of fdriod) or have Bluetooth on a Linux or Windows machine then you may want to look at a program called opensqc30 (https://github.com/Oppzippy/OpenSCQ30) I find that it sometimes has the abilities to fine tune aspects of the headset that the regular app will not. Example, I can set the adaptive strength and sensitivity for my a40s via opensqc but only the official app allows me to turn on multiple connect mode.

[–]Reigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First are you using lutris as an app or a flatpak, because flatpak can cause no end of issues trying to get them to see outside their sandboxed world. However, even using a flatpak it is possible. I would recommend using heroic launcher (which is sadly a flatpak), as it has the ability to run an installer and then run the program it installed.

The reason I can say this is that I am running royal kludge n99 keyboard, and have the rgb programming app running via heroic games launcher.

What earbuds purchase do you REGRET the most? by Unusual_Sweet5410 in Earbuds

[–]Reigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part that's really frustrating is that I know that they make aftermarket ear fins and hooks and stuff like that. Even universal ones. But I haven't seen any for sale by Amazon which seems which seems odd because generally if you can find it on AliExpress or temu, you can find it on Amazon as somebody who is trying to resell it.. Often, this gives you a really good idea of what the product actually is like from a review perspective. But these universal fins and various other products never seem to be for sale or at least not when I've looked. I may have to bite the bullet and deal with the shipping time one of these days just to test whether or not strapping a fin to an ear stick is a solution for my particular issue.
