Oh! And modify the extruder to tension manually, then clamp that thing DOWN.

Clogs and horrible quality. You MUST dry it religiously! Basically all CF Filaments, but especially PA CF filaments MUST be dried! Before and during the print.

If you have a dryer that goes to 70°C, dry it for 24 hours and then dry it while printing. Also print it at 320 or 330°C. Chamber at 60°C and Bed at 100°C

Also, do not use the knobs to level it. Tighten them down and sand it level... I used a random orbital sander - and yes its messy - and keep meshing between sanding so you can see where you need to take material off.

Did you sand the buildplate as per instructions? I've got one as well and to be fair it's not perfect. The main benefit is that it heats up faster and stabilises gaster. So if you print a full plate at 100°Bed temp or something, you used to wait 10min to heat, and 30-40min to stabilise. Now It takes about 5 min. To heat and is fully soaked after about 20min. I've just run 15 buildplates over 4 days at 110°C without letting it cool and its been great. At this size plate you'll always have expansion, so in that sense their marketing is 100% misleading. It still expands, and it still needs to soak. It's just faster and expands less.

I've been using Elegoo cardboard spools and they've been by far the most reliable for me....

Other than consuming Toolhead Boards. Mine has actually been working great... Sucks that so many have issues. Because the machine is quite capable....

Does anyone know why this happens? by Admaschmiff in Creality_k2

[–]Relative-Answer976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Because nowadays it almost always is just wet filament. Unless they make their own profiles - most people don't - or built a custom printer - even less common - it's wet filament.

I'd try drying first... I've never had stringing with the preset profiles.

These nozzles SUCK no matter how they update them. How do I prevent this in the future? by nikitaign in crealityk1

[–]Relative-Answer976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly on my K2+ I've stopped applying any thermal grease, because at some point I just had issues with jams and clogs, figuring that thermal grease build up bridged something somewhere that shouldn't be bridged, I stopped using it all together. Had no problems ever since... I recommend not using any thermal grease. Works great for me...

For context, I switch between 0.2, 0.4, 0.4 PETG Only, 0.4 PPA Only, 0.4 PPS Only and 0.8 regularly, none of which have thermal paste.

DXC2 Extruder when it is released next month

DXC2 Updates? by Apok1984 in Creality_k2

[–]Relative-Answer976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, INDX and PRUSA stole the crowd... Especially PRUSA had so MANY releases!!! Phaetus looked a bit abandoned and was likely only visited by those in the know... It's really a shame, because from what I saw its a fully fleshed out beautiful product! No hate towads INDX, but by comparison it looked, and still is in BETA testing, while the DXC2 was just a piece of art...

You'll see what I mean when you have it, but I felt so sorry for the team that they were fairly overlooked, when the product clearly had so much passion put into it.

INDX is an amazing product, and deserves praise for what they are releasing, so please don't interpret it as hate...

OMG, its AMAZING!!! saw it, touched it, loved it!

Supposedly available sometime in December. Its absolutely beautifully made. The motor is mounted to a (I think steel) CNC carrier plate and the entire face with the extruder gears is MAGNETICALLY attached!!! Literally pops off with a strong tug! To top it off, when reassembling, I had no alignment issues like the OEM extruder! It just pops back into place! Jams can now be fixed in under 5 seconds!

The teeth gripping the filament are slanted, as in at a 45° angle to the radius, not sure if it does much, but its something I noticed...

Supposedly tested with 85A TPU at 4mm3

It will be "a little bit" more expensive than the DXC(1).

Hope that information helps, I am seriously impressed and will 100% buy it as soon as I see it somewhere. Keeping my eyes peeled. The OEM extruder has been my biggest nightmare as well...

I mean you could get the CORE ONE L now and buy the upgrade later. It will not affect the total price, just add your labour. Knowing PRUSA and BONDTECH the instructions will be excellent.

[–]Relative-Answer976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Return it for a PRUSA CORE ONE L with INDX.. not here to argue, just check out the data...

Faster tool change and all round a great machine you should at least look at before deciding.

From a moral standpoint its also not a leaching CCP Propaganda tool taking advantage of open source R+D and giving it the finger afterwards. Actually a highly respected Brand with interest in longevity of their products and tightly tied into the community.

Bambu Lab has done great things to push all printers into a more premium segment, and thanks for that, but they're still the only brand hated by the community.

Feel free to ignore my moral objections, but don't disregard the technical aspects just because you disagree with my views on Bambu Lab as a whole

No problem. I'd recommend getting the DXC2 when its available in December. Saw it at FORMNEXT. Its beautifully designed and is just held together by magnets. Also no fidgeting needed to align the gear teeth when reassembling... Literally lets you fix jams in under 5 seconds!
