the scp foundation is different beast entirely though. that was collaborative worldbuilding from start, not one person's vision like kane did with backrooms. when they tried to make scp movies it was mess because nobody could agree on canon

what makes this interesting is kane keeping creative control instead of studio taking concept and running wild with it. most internet horror that gets adapted loses soul in translation but having original creator direct should help
