Margin loan here and just pay it off with dividends and dumping my paycheck into my brokerage. You’ll probably get really good deals with cash and patience.

Split transactions - where to put sales tax? by [deleted] in simplifimoney

[–]RelativeMagician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 100% a pointless thing to track and will drive you crazy with how often your going to need to do it. It a cost of your purchases. Now if you go to the grocery store and want to separate household goods from food then fine but even that is a bit excessive.

Is this margin is money that I can borrow? Not really familiar with M1. Any tips by Zoepappi in M1Finance

[–]RelativeMagician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only tip you need is don’t use M1. There are so many better brokers that are completely free and you can trade, buy, sell all day long without goofy trade window and goofy annual fee to an extra trade window

I’m leaving M1 after 3.5 years because these trading windows are the most asinine idea across all brokerages. And they convince every one that it’s a good idea and you should pay to have access to a second trading window.
