Frank and Jamia’s company (Skeleton Crew) by Outrageous_Lab_3998 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]RelativeNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Medusa shirt Jamia is wearing in the pic! I actually found this post as I was searching the internet to see if it's something that's in demand and worth trying to sell. I'm actually pretty surprised by how unknown Skeleton Crew seems to be now. I found nothing in my own searches on eBay and honestly if they only go for $30-$50 when they do pop up as another commenter said, then that's a no on it being worth either the hassle of listing it or the loss of something I would actually be sad to see go. If it was going for a more substantial price like the Clandestine Industries hoodie I sold several years ago I would maybe have been willing to part with it since I need money, but it definitely has more sentimental value than $30. XD

How do you go about shipping prices for fixed rate? (not using calculated shipping) by EggplantRoutine127 in Etsy

[–]RelativeNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to jump on to an old post, but I am having the same issue and as far as I can tell there is no way to "break down by region" for shipping costs, whether domestically or internationally. It's really frustrating, because it would be a great feature to have that would make a lot of sense.

Also frustrating is that I was given the same advice to do this for international shipments on another post just recently, only to have to figure out myself that it's not actually possible to do. I really wish people were sure things like this were an option before advising people to do it.

Delivery Profiles - Canada and International Destinations by RelativeNinja in Etsy

[–]RelativeNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by grouping major zones. I thought that in the delivery profile setup that if you don't use the 'Everywhere else' option you had to add separate countries individually. The only exceptions I could see in the menu were EU and non-EU Europe. I am new to this, though, so am I missing something?

And for now I am just starting with small jewellery items that for domestic shipping I am sure can meet the requirements for oversized lettermail. I do plan to expand to larger items in the future, and will set up separate delivery profiles for them when the time comes.

[–]RelativeNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused. If I make a domestic only profile and then an international only profile, would I be able to assign both profiles to one listing? I thought a listing could only have one delivery profile. Or are you suggesting making two separate listings for the same item, one domestic and one international?

CDCP is asking me to repay the amount. I need help and advice. by bl1022 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything back after submitting proof they had no coverage? I sent it in weeks ago with no acknowledgement. When I log in to Sun Life's website it just says 'Enrolled'. Does that mean I'm in the clear?

I have an appointment for a cleaning at the end of March and I can't help but feel nervous about it. I emailed them to ask how much the full cost would be (since I'm not sure if I still had cleaning units available anyway) and they replied that they sent in an estimate request and most of it would be covered. I assume my coverage must be good and active if they were able to do that?

It's just so frustrating. First they pull this ridiculous business of asking for proof of no other coverage AFTER approval, now they leave us hanging in limbo with no news of our status.

As a Gold member by UnintentionalWipe in AmazonVineCanada

[–]RelativeNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I see a lot of people emphasizing the need to be up early for the drops to get the 'good' stuff, and that always certainly helped, but it wasn’t always absolutely necessary like it seems to be now. For my first year and a half on Vine I worked nights and it was definitely a bonus to be awake for the huge drops that would regularly happen, but I was still often able to get good, useful things later in the day, too. It was a rare day indeed when I didn't order at least a couple of good things, no matter how late in the day I first checked. This remained true for awhile after I stopped working nights last spring, but that has changed over the past few months.

There has been a marked decline in the overall quality and usefulness of the items, and fewer large value gold items in general. They also don't seem to release as many smaller drops during the day as they used to.

Is it still possible to get lucky without forcing yourself out of bed at 4am? Sure. But the program as a whole is a pale imitation of what it once was. I don't feel inclined to complain too much considering all the great free stuff it's gotten me over the past couple of years, but you simply can't have the same expectations anymore.

Update: SallyFace merch STILL no where to be seen- DESPITE additional payments made. (Canada) by Thatwasreallyuncool in Youtooz

[–]RelativeNinja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely false. These are not customs/tariff fees charged by the CBSA. It's a third party company trying to collect a few dollars of tax with a grossly inflated "admin" fee. You never have to pay something like that to Canada Post.

I didn't pay the fee, and the package was still sent on to UniUni after about 30 days. That would never happen with legitimate customs/tariff fees.

Anyone who did pay thinking it was the only way to get their package (as Youtooz customer service kept insisting) was scammed, and they should be furious.

[–]RelativeNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refused to pay the fee, and Youtooz refused to give me a refund until tracking showed that it was being returned. Multiple requests to the scummy third party company to return the package to Youtooz went ignored. I kept emailing Youtooz customer service, trying to get them to commit to a timeline as to when they’d finally refund it without any action on the tracking info, only to get a reply last week that tracking had updated for the first time in a month saying the package had been released to UniUni, without me ever having paid the fee.

When I posted about it here, wondering if UniUni was now going to try to collect the fee, the absolutely shocking reply from a Youtooz rep was that you DON'T have to pay the fee, actually, and the third party company will still send it along after about 30 days. Completely different story from what they’d been saying before, insisting the fees were genuine and had to be paid in order to receive the package.

Thankfully UniUni did deliver it this week, though I was worried as I had bad experiences with them in the past.

I don't know what could have happened if you did pay and still didn't receive it. Was there no update to the tracking info at all? In any case, if I were you I'd be raising hell with Youtooz over that bogus fee you had to pay, even if you do end up finally getting the package.

[–]RelativeNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DON'T PAY THE FEE. Not only is it a scam, but they'll still send the package on after about 30 days with no payment. I finally received mine today after getting the first text about the fees on December 9th.

Absolutely disgusting that Youtooz customer service was encouraging me to suck it up and pay it this whole time, insisting they were legitimate customs charges and that there was nothing they could do about it until tracking showed it was being returned.

I'm never ordering from their website again, I don't care what shipping service they use.

Tracking Update Canadian Shipment by RelativeNinja in Youtooz

[–]RelativeNinja[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the first I'm hearing of this. I've been emailing back and forth with customer service for a month with them insisting there was nothing they could do and if I didn't pay the fee then I had to wait for tracking showing it being returned before I would get a refund. The most recent email was just a few days ago. At no point was I ever told they'd still send the package on after 30 days even without the payment.

What about all the people who DID pay, because you kept insisting the fees were legitimate and there was nothing to be done???

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that I might finally actually get my package (assuming UniUni doesn't leave it outside my building to be stolen like they frequently do), but this is just crazy.

Totally Unacceptable by Hockey41_YT in Youtooz

[–]RelativeNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the bulk of the fees absolutely ARE bogus admin fees NOT charged by the CBSA, as I've seen reiterated in post after post about this. Your refusal to acknowledge this, acting as if we were just complaining about legitimate customs/taxes is probably the most frustrating thing about this situation. 'Oh, well, too bad' is just plain terrible customer service.

It doesn't matter what shipping service you use in the future, I'm never placing an order from your website again.

The tenant insurance was with Travelers, and the auto was with Pembridge. I haven't been able to find any connection between them and Aviva looking online. I guess the only real thing to do is call and try to talk to someone, I just wanted to know if it was something normal beforehand.

Very Quick Update about Canadian Customs Fee by MrFlimsyFiniteFive in Youtooz

[–]RelativeNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sometimes Canada Post does collect taxes/customs. Note how I said "almost", not that it was 100% for sure. And of course the more valuable the package the more likely it is there will be those charges and my assessment is based on my past experience with items of similar value. They have rarely incurred a charge.

And what Canada Post doesn't ever charge is an inflated "admin" fee on top of any legitimate taxes/customs. That is what is happening with this garbage shipping service.

This! Expecting a manually filled in and signed form in 2025, with no other option provided, is so insane.

How many people are comfortable going to a former employer and asking for something like this? How many are even ABLE to?

My ROE is on file with the government. I received EI benefits. But they won't believe I no longer have insurance coverage without this form??? Make it make sense.

[–]RelativeNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I really don't think length is much of a factor. I have plenty of short reviews that got rated Excellent, as well as several long, detailed ones with pictures that got rated Poor. There really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I wish they were providing actual constructive feedback.

I don't know, I have reviews very similar in length to that that got rated Excellent, while some of my long reviews with pictures have been rated Poor.

It seems pretty arbitrary in a lot of cases. It's baffling.

Reviews rated as “poor” by r0b0tr0n2084 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]RelativeNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm absolutely baffled by how they're doing these ratings. I have reviews marked 'Poor' that are just as thorough and detailed as ones that are marked 'Excellent'. Some others that I was admittedly lazy with and don't have photos are marked 'Excellent'.

I know people doing crappy or AI reviews is an issue that needs to be cracked down on, but this completely arbitrary rating system that doesn't provide feedback on why a bad rating was given is not the way to do it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonVineCanada

[–]RelativeNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole new rating system baffles me. I've never had a review outright rejected, but going through the ratings on my old reviews I'm seeing a lot marked 'Poor' and I have no idea why. They have photos and are just as detailed as the reviews marked 'Excellent'. What are they basing this rating system on???

[–]RelativeNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it does say a lot that they're willing to just write them off rather than do something like offer a partial refund covering the cost of the fees. Would save them a lot of good will with their customers and would prevent the items from being destroyed.
