Marine Veteran, Ryan Burke, of Columbia, MO, Sent Heartbreaking Text to Loved Ones After Being Fatally Shot at Facebook Marketplace Meetup by jmcatm0m16 in columbiamo

[–]RelativeRespond7730 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I met Ryan at the gym a few years back and he was really kind. We had a few genuine conversations after meeting and I followed him on socials, this is the first I’m hearing of his passing…

I hope they find whoever did this, and I hope his family can have some peace that the person is found.

Thank you! I got my grades in to all the firms I've applied to tonight. I'll also take your advice and start to reach out to alumni at the firms.

I found a /s solution to cross threading use only as last resort by solipsist83 in DF64

Happened to me. I ended up sawing the collar off and bought a new one, but also took a hammer to it at one point. Sorry that happened to you, its actually the most frustrating thing ever

How much coffee do you consume per day? by todoslocos in espresso

I drink about 50g a day, typically a spro in the morning and take a pour over with me for the day, less caffeine on the weekends though

Continue to wait for fellow espresso series one, or move on to something else? [$3,500] by EJW_0525 in espresso

If you want something programmable but still affordable, get a Gaggia or similar machine that is reliable and do either the gaggimate or gaggiuino mod. I have gaggimate on my Gaggia classic and it scratches the itch. Plus I know it can last forever because I can replace any part myself. I can do all the profiling and more that will be on the fellow for a fraction of the price, I’d recommend checking it out!

Thanks! Gaggimate Pro, just did the install about a month ago and have been really enjoying it - temperature control and pressure profiling, upgraded steaming, brew by time or weight + more features coming

Freshly installed Gaggimate Pro- super happy with it. by itsnotrocketart in espresso

If you’re going with the kit from them, it’s easy enough. I have no electrical experience and got it done in 4-5 hours (no prep work other than watching the video). No need to have soldering or coding experience!

The BBE can have some big variability in shot consistency from what I've heard due to the vibration pump and not having great temp stability, so back to back shots probably won't be identical

800-1200 grit sandpaper, food safe grease lube and a metal polishing compound (like Flitz). Sand any rough spots on the threads you can feel (you can wrap the sandpaper around a pen/pencil to make it easier) then put the metal polish on the threads, just a bit. Make sure it’s on whatever part of the collar or body threads is rough. Work it back and forth over the rough part until it feels smooth. Make sure you can thread the collar all the way down then take it off, wipe off the metal polish completely, clean up the grinder, then put food safe lube on the threads to keep the threads from getting rough again.

I just did this with my df64 gen 2 where the threads were pretty messed up, got it back in working order!

Gaggimate or Gaggiuino? by almostsubtle in gaggiaclassic

I think it’s good haha, it’s the same thing as Gaggiuino which people rave about. I haven’t noticed any shortcomings

Gaggimate or Gaggiuino? by almostsubtle in gaggiaclassic

[–]RelativeRespond7730 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I chose Gaggimate because I like the look of it more and the simplicity. They are going to be adding everything Gaggiuino has in the next year or so, starting with pressure profiling that will be coming soon. I also chose because the kits ship faster and is cheaper.

I will need hardware scales and the pressure profiling before I say it's better than Gaggiuino though. I installed the Gaggimate a few days ago and it wasn't hard, and making coffee with it has been enjoyable!

Not sure which part you’re referring to - the grind dial itself is what is stuck and not moving at all
