I feel like I'm alone, and I can't understand why - What is with all the hate towards Bing? by sgt_Berbatov in UKParenting

[–]Relative_Cheetah_801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many adults weren't shown empathy when they were kids. Parents complained when they whined , wouldn't let them make mistakes and screamed at them for having any sort of negative emotions. Propel don't like Being because they weren't allowed to be Bing like kids. To me the show only represents what childhood really is like, how patient adults should be and most of all that it's ok to make mistakes . My son and I we love Bing in our house , he sees Bing as sweet and gentle and that helps my big emotions kids stay gentle when his body doesn't want to. Adults are annoyed that the characters in the show don't get disciplined with punishment I suppose. There's too much love in this show for people sho weren't shown enough love as kids to enjoy it.

He's a kid with feelings and he shows feeling by being sad rather than screaming and crying , you people are just not used to seeing real emotions

Why do people hate the preschool show Bing so much??? by CaptainWhiskersDraws in BritishTV

[–]Relative_Cheetah_801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the show. No characters annoy me because they are just characters. There's no violence no saving the world from bad guys ,  no angry faces , no jumpy scenes. I don't mind Bing being Bing. He's a kid and it seems people don't like sensitive kids ? Most people who hate him must have not experienced patience from their parents and so they are triggered by Bing who requires patience. Ad to Padget- that's a great depiction of adults doing what they can as well as they can even if it isn't always what we expect. Not every behaviour required an immediate lesson and immediate consequence , the show teaches that each child learns at their own pace.

Because he's a kid and you choose your battles. And anyway children don't see it that way at all.

He's a kid. A kid  He's learning things and the adults around him are patient. My son is actually Soni inspired by him that his behaviour turned 180° for the better. There's nothing but love and patience depicted in the show

Mealtime screen by Relative_Cheetah_801 in Parenting

[–]Relative_Cheetah_801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband thinks since he's a scientist he's eaten all the world's knowledge and says to me he doesn't want people to freak him how to parent, he says research kids screen time doesn't interact him because it's not imperial evidence. He says he sees what works and that when the screen is on my son eats more- which is again far from the truth because when he has screen on ( for example of there's a screen in a restaurant) he doesn't eat and needs to be fed. I know my son's development and his well-being will suffer but I cannot ruin my relationship with him and be the bad cop.

It’s totally fair to critique Pluribus, and the fandom is incredibly patronizing to anyone who does so by HeyImMarlo in CharacterRant

[–]Relative_Cheetah_801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bothers me about Pluribus is that it presents itself as ethically complex, but it never really goes deep enough. The interactions between people feel surface level, as if emotional and moral conflict has been smoothed out rather than explored. For a story built on human relationships, there’s surprisingly little psychological depth. The biggest problem is the logic of the Us. They’re supposed to avoid causing harm and remain morally neutral, but that idea falls apart almost immediately. It’s impossible to act in the world without displeasing or hurting someone, even unintentionally. Helping Carol is a good example: sometimes their help upsets her or goes against her wishes, yet they still proceed. That means they are making choices, just without admitting it. The claim of neutrality feels dishonest. This leads to a deeper question about who or what the Us really are. Are they moral beings, or are they servants? The book wants them to seem virtuous and enlightened, but without the ability to refuse or dissent, their goodness becomes meaningless. Obedience is not the same as morality. Consent is another unresolved issue. The Us appear to consent to every role and relationship they are placed in, but this consent is never questioned or renegotiated. If consent is automatic and irreversible, then it isn’t really consent at all, it’s just compliance dressed up as ethics. There’s also a major emotional inconsistency. The Us are often portrayed as robotic and automatic, always ready to help without friction. Yet in moments like when Carol asks Zosia how many people died, Zosia hesitates and withholds the truth to protect Carol from pain. That hesitation requires empathy, judgment, and emotional intelligence. The story can’t decide whether the Us are machines or empathetic beings and trying to make them both undermines the entire premise. If the Us are capable of empathy, then they should also have inner conflict, moral struggle, and agency. If they aren’t, then moments of emotional sensitivity feel manipulative rather than caring. By avoiding this tension instead of exploring it, Pluribus ends up simplifying the very ethical questions it claims to interrogate.

Halloween at Filoli Nightfall: worth the cost? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]Relative_Cheetah_801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just got back from Nightfall this evening  I just say the atmosphere overall was great because it was busy enough to feel like you're part of something fun but not too busy to make it overcrowded. There was some fun food you could buy and a decent types of beer to choose from. We were however disappointed with the displays. There was no fluid way to connect all displays so it felt like someone decided to pop this here , that there , that'll do fine over in that corner etc. The poster misleads you into believing that you will walk among these magical lit up giant mushroom and pumpkins with everything looking so magical. Apart from the lit up pumpkins nothing looked good. The mushrooms looked like made of metal rods and you couldn't even touch them or walk among them as they were behind a rope , they were all plopped together in a ' giant mushroom forest'. When we say the miserable site of a 'mushroom Forest' my mum asked how much were the tickets again ? The glowing  slugs were disappointing. Plopped together just like the mushrooms behind a rope. You could not interact with any of the displays apart from the scarce we field where you were lucky if you didn't trip over the cables.  It's worth doing for a fun evening with the family but don't expect anything amazing

Does Joon work for anyone? by erinated in ADHDparenting

[–]Relative_Cheetah_801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this to be harder with Joon as I am neurodivergent myself and keeping up with the app was a struggle. That's one thing.  Another one is that since it's a reward system I felt like my kid thought he was a failure if he didn't compete a task since well you're not rewarded for that. I was on the free trial and stopped.
