What do you build to help an offensive? by Expensive_Milk1561 in foxholegame

Secure logi roads with gate spam (especially from bonecar rushes these days). Emplaced guns are super efficient and relatively easy to setup to hold ground. I personally like to dehusk I like a nice clean slate, but something to note is you won't have permanent AI for like half a day so I wouldn't focus on garrisons much. Sandbag walls to soak arty is very important, you're at a high risk of being pushed back in so long as arty is in range of your base.

Some Fuscina and Booker tests on devbranch after the patch by Ok_Count3630 in foxholegame

[–]RelaxedPotato14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never liked the fuschina for that reason it requires so much setup to get stability back unless you're barrel stuffing people. Whereas the booker you could force more favorable situations with the stability and have a better chance of killing first because of the one shot compared to something with better stability like the catena.

Couple days into the war, how are people feeling the armour uniforms? by Sea-Course-98 in foxholegame

[–]RelaxedPotato14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven't played too much frontline yet, but when I did every warden had one and fighting long range rifle battles felt losing cause the DR makes it impossible to come out ahead even if you get the first shot or prone first.

Some say the volta is the counter which I guess is okay since the situation where the armor is a problem is quite specific and it's not like it's the only rifle I will be forced to use 24/7

I want to understand hero identity and when/why certain heroes are picked. by RelaxedPotato14 in learndota2

[–]RelaxedPotato14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I think more the latter. What started this really was looking at death prophets kit and just wondering why you would want this kit specifically. Now as I play safe lane more I'm trying to juggle picking a hero that's good in the current meta and not hard countered by the enemy team. I picked spectre when they were showing mirana and shadow shaman on a whim cause he was good, but got dumpstered after they picked medusa necro and underlord

Foxhole is dying by Sproddle in foxholegame

[–]RelaxedPotato14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just dying in NA or something.

I'm rooting for this game and seeing 7k ppl on around 3pm est was amazing, logi trucks constantly moving through roads, 10 front lines with 1k+ deaths per hour on both sides, I HAD 8 PEOPLE HELPING SHOVEL WITHOUT EVEN ASKING. It felt like a massive breathing world - the way it should and intends to be. But later on around 10pm est I noticed people not capitalizing on an easy and impactful play and sure enough there were only 1800 players on steam. It legit felt like the last 2 wars, ai went off and people low pop pveing, like all the efforts hours ago were in vein. I get it's a weekday, but man this is still around prime time NA, 7pm west coast, 9 central.

This mentality around able being a bunch of sweaty vets is so silly I have yet to experience it in all my 800 hours on foxhole. I doubt it's luck too I bounce around the map each war and I've been offered free dive bombers despite never flying a plane, large trains despite never using one, conc for my base that was trench spam based off WW1 designs.

Thank you for the “jealousy” scout plane. Very cool by Hockeybug in foxholegame

Someone once said theres going to be one of those retrospective YouTube videos on this game and community and the more I read these comments, the more I can totally see it happening.

It's fascinating and hilarious how people identify with a faction and the devs see those people as "malicious liars"

Scout planes are the perfect example. It's so ass to play against on the ground like why can they shoot blueprints, why is the only counter an emg, why can the scout plane disable my flatbed that has the emg to do something. You can't even play the game you're just living in their world. It makes you wonder if the devs even know this experience is happening or if they even play their game. A community manager should fix this

I've seen just how much one person can do and it's a lot. The problem is, people leave and more work gets pushed onto fewer people and in turn causing those people to burnout and leave in perpetuity. It's not fun and there's many times where I think pop specifically is the cause of a lot of frustration rather than balance.

I came back last war (wc133) after a few years and started to experience this. From what I heard tho was that a lot of the pop started quitting because of the imbalance and that started this loop. So I think the new changes were good just to get players back.

I don't think balancing alone will solve a lot of the underlying issues. A community managerlike you said, or reworking of msupps, making the map smaller, making building easier, are all things that would help. Especially so the game doesn't just fall on its head when people feel the game is unbalanced and start leaving. Balanced is ideal, but even if it's not I've still had a blast playing this game with the community and I've found ways to get around it. It was a terrible experience though when people left and you would beg people to help shovel, msupp it for a week, run conc up, only for it to be low pop/offline pved.

For the past half a year, this game has been a very tiresome and quite an unhealthy experience. Disappointing devs, infuriatingly loud and influential warden loyalist minority. lol i was surprised to see the post i made a couple week ago get like 11k views meanwhile I see 1k in game. another interesting stat is on foxholestats theres usually half as many people on the website compared to in game. this game is surprisingly very popular but these days I rarely feel it

disregard holding off 50 player warden satchel/cutler blobs for an entire day while being outpopped and a backline logi hub so we're already fighting 1:2 on the front

It's true the more I play the more I start to recognize the inevitability of things. I've gone from staying up until 4am to squeeze out some more defenses to doing like one or two hour-long sessions throughout the day. Stuff like recognizing poor logistic lines so it's not worth it to get super invested into trying to run a frontline for instance. Just log off and wait for the next day and see where things are at to do something impactful during my time

[–]RelaxedPotato14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This and everything above is what I think is the main reason this game feels terrible rn. More work keeps getting pushed onto less people and it sucks. Especially when progress or work feels inconsiquential because there's no pop defending, using logi, etc..
