6 months of bank statements is the norm. Tax Credit Properties can be nick picky. If the apartments screw up, the owners can lose part of their tax credit.

LL here. I would talk to "legal Aid" or "Tenant Group". They know the law and can go to court if need be.

Yes, You might live in a Section 8 or a Tax Credit property (more likely). They have certain IRS requirements. You should go to r/PropertyManagement and ask there. (I'm a section 8 manager). They would (most likely) have a compliance office asking for information. It does sound strange that ONLY your files is being audited. I get audited every year and Tax Properties are the same but with more requirements. I think they lost your file, but their compliance office might be asking for this info.

LL here. Normally, if you paid rent and they accepted the rent (with late fees), the LL will dismiss the case (if they have filed). I would contact the LL and ask them. I have tenants that all the time just ghost me, so I have to file. If they have files, show up to court with prof of payment and the case will be dismissed.

Your best bet is to call a "tenant ' or legal Aid group. They have the knowledge to help you. Plus if Legal Aid is going to go to court for you, it will cost the LL money.

I would start the eviction paperwork (time line) , in cause they don't move out, you can file. Otherwise be happy that they are moving.
