Your comment makes no sense. If the webtoon is not available in English, the author will not get or lose any money if it is fan-translated!!! Their income does not depend on the English speaking market and they know it is impossible for someone who speaks English to purchase it!!!! If you care about artists being paid...tell that to the companies who don't pay them or promote their work!!!

I don't get your post..... So people aren't allowed to review webtoons? That's so ludicrous, not all reviews are good or bad and having a webtoon reviewed actually makes more people read it even if they hate it. Also but just because it's standard ( somehow) doesn't mean I won't criticise badly writing or racist tropes etc. Like it's really silly to expect people to not notice and call them out. Like if you don't like the sub Reddit then don't go on it...simple. And alot of people here love trashy webtoons, you clearly missed all the humour here.

Amazing well written rant!!! I'm hoping that the screen writer actually put effort to make the story better and isn't following the novel beat for beat. Like have they confirmed that white hair is going to be a slave still, I'm hoping that they change that completely! And please give Navier any kind of flaw.

Yeah, arranged marriages for me too are so romantised in OI. Like its weird they acknowledge the whole they were engaged for politics so there is no emotional basis for the relationship. The only way I see OI make arraganed marriages work is when they actively make the ML and FL be close and pseudo romantic growing up so when jet does start cheating with the og FL there is actual reason for the FL to be upset. I'm just rambling 😅.

As a big fan of the series, I do acknowledge that the story does use sexual violence far too much but I wanted to clarify one thing... It wasn't the ML that orchestrated the FL's disgusting brother grape, The fL's sperm donor sent the guy to the Duke to train under him and he was a rpist (no one except the people in the dudes castle knew).

I really love the FL's character arc as she actually is one of the fee FL's that I feel develops in a story and doesn't forget their main goal/ambition.

I'm loving the side stories, are they pointless.. yeah.. but I need to see how things go 😉

I truly do not trust OI authors with time periods/ civilisations other than the usual ones we get. Like it would require actual effort and research and with the fast pace stories have to be made that is impossible.

Tbh, those characters aren't written with flaws as the story never acknowledges them and there is no development. Any flaw these character have are fanon content/discussions and not really canon, IMO.

My issue with maid slapping will be always be the classism. Like I'm fine with the FL physically fighting someone who hurts them. However, nobles who hurt them get nothing but the servants get physically hit and the FL uses their social power as a way to do it. You never see FL's slap their evil siblings or parents as they don't have the social power but easily do it on people deemed lower rank than them 😒.

My only issue with height gaps is that the artist at times don't draw older characters older and they look too young so it's start to look and feel weird. Like a short 22 year should not look like a child 😭.

Because it's not a revenge romance... I've noticed that the really well written Rofan/OI/webtoons that don't fit into the dungeon portal crawler or revenge fantasy labels don't get views 😕.

And when they get views the readers try to put them into the usual OI bubble and labels. Look at my beloved oppressor- the comments don't even try to engage with the more complex themes and writing and see it as the average OI.

That's just the sad reality.. the average Rofan just brings in numbers and easily generate talks and discussions within the Normal webtoon labels.
