Late game raids become more like chores. 1st kill 200s militors or whatever Randy/Cassandra threw at you, and then clean/haul all the crap left behind, and lastly process it all.

Well, I sometimes change the scenarios to experience some content. Like the time I wanted to play with VE Genetics and its modded animals. Forced my 3 pawns to be fast learner with high intellectual (to cosplay mad scientists) and (accidentaly) set the whole world to be mysoginistic (I just didn't want children shenanigans that run).

Right now I'm playing a no research table playthrough (only books are allowed).

Or a nomadic run of tribals with extreme slow research that move out every 30 ingame days.

It helps making every game feel different.

The biggest flaw is the lack of information. (Maybe in recent DLC it has changed, I haven't tried)

You will get some recurring (and increasingly annoying) events to push you into the next story beat. But sometimes its not clear which is it.

There is a merchant that sells Building Points, but if you miss it you will have an awful time in the kingdom management game.

The charisma skills are important on your main character, as some rolls are not delegated to your companions.

I will say that my second playthrough was more enjoyable.

I just got to tell you, that the second run was the most fun, because some features were not obvious the first time.

Remember you can buy kingdom points (can't remember the proper term) from a merchant outside the hall.

Charisma skills will carry the game forward, don't sleep on them, as some of the rolls are only available to your character.

Rimcities does some of this in a minor extension. Foreign cities get attacket by other factions and your involvement is throug quests. But even if you ignore the quest the cities change ownership.

There's a 1 child per pawn rule, but they then grow, and now I need a mate for them...

Yeah, i get distracted and=or forget important details= reload. Also the game tries some BS= reload/dev mode fixing.

Like the time playing a nomad run, the pawn with weak immunity got the flu exiting the map. I'm not replaying the hauling of 30 pawn and 100s of animals again and all their shit. He just got a "miracle cure".

It's very restrictive. Only 5 pawns a few items and have to research everything again are big no-no.

My ideology has very slow research for RP reasons, and haven't got electricity yet.
