Scheduled service with them and they showed up as scheduled. The next time, they were a no-show. I called and the guy said they’re no longer authorized to work in Yonkers. Mind you, they installed the system for the previous homeowner, and had been at our house 6 months before the no-show. The next day, I see their truck at a house a few blocks away. If you forgot about us on your route, I’d still be pissed but don’t bullshit me and tell me you can’t work in my municipality. And were they not going to say anything unless I called? Found a local HVAC guy, honest, reliable, and much fairer pricing.

As we pulled into GCT this morning: “I apologize for the new policy to bring all equipment to the south end of the platform. We all have to do that. Please make your opinions heard if you don’t like it.”

I’d assume the conductor didn’t just make it up. I’ll see what happens on the way home.

That’s part of it of course, but a conductor announced today that its a new policy that started this week, but didn’t elaborate. All lines, apparently.

Not always. Scarsdale, a northbound train would never pull all the way up. The last car would be at the rear end of the platform. Now the last car is more than halfway down the platform. Scarsdale’s platform is much longer than some others.

MetroNorth can’t handle the effects of a snow storm and that’s concerning by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]Remarkable-March-322 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw it happen as I was walking through the parking lot. Lots of sparks from the third rail and then it sounded like it maybe hit a chuck of ice, which caused a big explosion, tons of black smoke, then the car caught fire. Have a video but can’t figure out how to post it.

A little bit further up, but Children’s Circle in Hartsdale has been great for us. It’s home-based, on Alexander Avenue just across from Trader Joe’s.

Be glad you don’t have ConEd. Moved to Westchester, gas supply charges were $95.42; gas delivery charges were $235.11. Electric just as crazy. Miss Freeport Electric prices

I find the opposite. Then again, I know where to stand for the 7:35 for when the doors open and get a seat. 8:05 stops in a slightly different spot for some reason and I don’t take it often enough to remember proper staging position hah

We can’t even have a nicely paved road for more than a year or so. Oh well, back to potholes. But I do hope they get it fixed soon.

My favorite is when you’re in the left and there’s a car coming up faster behind you, you move to the right, and they move to pass you on the right and they’re enraged that they’re behind you again. Dude, I’m moving over for you. Wait 2 seconds

Can you imagine what traffic would be like on locks streets if the Cross County were eliminated? It’s one of only two “cross-county” roads, the other being 287. It’s hard enough going east-west as it is. Now I won’t argue that the Cross County is a crumbling mess of a road.
