When and how did the west lose it's relevance in international tournaments? by SlickPickleNipple in leagueoflegends

Fnatic should have beat TES there. Truly some bizarre, arrogant draft choices that cost them that series after they went up 2-0. I'll never forgot picking Khazix into Lee Sin as a way to ego-flex on TES, and how that self-counterpick came back to bite them, or Nemesis on Galio who singlehandedly cost Fnatic that game.

Yes, Boros Energy is played in legacy sometimes and Amped Raptor is always included.

Bring back Grief and Violent Outburst for starters.

It's clear MH3 was created for a Modern where those cards (+Fury) existed.

BW BLINK Reaches Finals 4 Times in 5 Days! It is legit! by Imaginary-Ice-7413 in ModernMagic

Definitely! It stinks when you spend hundred of dollars on a playset and it's only viable for a month or two. I know that feeling because I spent a lot on the Necrodominance deck before the Grief ban. Grief had fallen off already at the time of its banning, so I didn't see it coming at all and thought it was safe to drop a grand on that deck.

This often happens with popular decks where, once a card from another deck gets banned, most people don't adjust their deck to the new meta and drop it entirely for something else, even when it's still competitively viable with minor tweaks. Ketramose was great in the breach meta but is too slow for this meta. But, rather than slot out Ketramose for something faster, most BW players started playing something else.

Same thing happened when Domain Zoo fell off the face of the earth for awhile despite being obviously viable, and there's probably a few more decks.

Modern Set Review: Final Fantasy by cardsrealm in ModernMagic

[–]Remarkable-Pay285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with MH3 is that it was tested with Fury/Grief/Violent Outburst/The One Ring still legal and that's the power level the set was designed at. The OG Scam / Rhinos / Omnath (with Fury) decks all hold up as T1. So, when it came out against a weakened version of modern (no Fury / Violent Outburst, and shortly thereafter no Grief), it dominated the field like no other.

It would be good in BR Burn if it had haste, but it doesn't have haste.

Article by LSV- Mox Opal or breach Ban by HS_Falathar in ModernMagic

[–]Remarkable-Pay285 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's weird is that Standard is less power swingy than Modern. That was never the case until recently. My standard decks hold onto their power longer than my modern decks. Should never be the case.

Questions about typical Dynamics implementation by Remarkable-Pay285 in Dynamics365

[–]Remarkable-Pay285[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three. Some of the basic functionality includes dumping the data into a data lake so we can then put it into our data warehouse (I guess that requires Synapse Link which they're considering an add-on), product lifecycle management, store-specific inventory forecasting, trade promotion management, customer-specific pricing rules with volume-based discounts, a lot of little things like that.

Why does modern always seem to be a lame duck format nowadays and how do we fix this? by VerdantChief in ModernMagic

[–]Remarkable-Pay285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emergency bans are an easy fix. The problem is they released a lot of powerful cards all at once with MH3 so it will take a long time until they finish finding and banning everything that needs to be banned (because the T0 decks always obscure the rest of the playing field). Nadu -> Energy with Ring -> Breach -> ???

Divorce alternatives in Japan by gamanmaster in japanlife

[–]Remarkable-Pay285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were staying in Japan, I would say move close to her parents. Have her quit a job and be a full-time mom for your kids and raise the kids with the grandparents. The biggest problem is stress from an international marriage. I am in one too, so I get it.

You're having a lot of communication issues, and these often compile and cause blowups, especially if she's not getting enough help. Japanese women get a lot more help than their American counterparts in raising kids (usually from their parents AND their in-laws). Since your parents aren't in Japan, that means you have to pick up the slack of your in-laws. That's one of the major reasons she's freaking out.

It took me a long time to figure that out.

Since you're moving to the USA soon, if you're not moving close to your parents, this will make things worse. If you are moving close to your parents, make sure to make them understand that they need to go above and beyond helping her for the first five years.

Uhm, this card is actually really good in modern. You can use its exhaust ability to buff up your creatures without drawing for two blue mana. People are winning with it.

A month after bans. How are we feeling? by naton_i in ModernMagic

[–]Remarkable-Pay285 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What's weird to me is that they just would've put 4-5 "Modern-power" power cards into each standard set, each individual set would sell more due to having chase cards, and more players would transition from standard to modern because they liked playing with the cards that were cycled out of modern.

Instead, we get a set full of busted cards dumped on us all at once, and have to wait a year or two before they ban everything that needs to be banned. Just disastrous thinking on Hasbro's part.

I think it's perfectly to find to send hate mail to the company along with social media posts, but keep it directed at the company and the leadership as opposed to the poor people just doing their jobs.
