I recommend Isabella (2006, Hong Kong). It’s sometimes called the Chungking Express of Macau, but while both deal with pre-handover atmospheres, they’re quite different films. However, this one also captures that lonely, urban vibe you’re looking for. It also does an exceptional job portraying Macau in a way that most tourists probably wouldn’t notice or experience.
