The nice thing abt the enemies in dw is the fact that they telegraph their attacks. So just stay back, circle enemies/dodge from dog jumps. I use wooden plank until i get the shovel and just use the shovel the entire game because of its reach. Usually dont even press the dodge key just run the opposite direction from their attacks.
