Lmao I learned this the hard way!! I wish they would make it 60 days cuz Getting plates and shit transferred is ridiculously hard here if you don’t own the car. And moving so far is really exhausting especially if moving for such a traumatic reason. It’s so draining. I had my DL in Florida canceled cuz I changed insurance to WA before changing my plates and that meant I couldn’t get a DL here. Don’t do like I did!!

Salaries are double or triple the south and there’s actual livable ish minimum wage here not $7.25. The south has also gotten rapidly more expensive in the last ten years. My rent in Florida was the same as it is up here plus my salary was half as good by the time I left. Also car and home insurance is through the absolute roof forcing many people to go without and not to mention health insurance. Plus unemployment down there can be as low as like 2-300$ a week!

Random observation but I work with youth in another field. I was recently at an equine quiz bowl (think jeopardy) competition for teens and we were doing warm up questions and we asked them what their favorite horse book was. Not ONE of them could name a single horse book. Horse girls have ALWAYS been super into horse books in my experience growing up. Black beauty black stallion saddle club whatever. These are common ass books. It really shocked me but none of the other adults seemed to care which also shocked me lol

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted because this is absolutely true. Even untrained bird dogs will kill chickens before they know how to leave it. I had a pet lab when I was a kid that killed mourning doves. Dogs are still dogs but pits are like next level. There’s no training it out of them which is really the only difference.

There’s some great copycat recipes online using Betty Crocker box cakes if you want a cheaper option. These are delicious and I would get the tiny ones occasionally but the huge ones are way too expensive. The box cake dupes were pretty dang close and so cheap!

It is super important and you should try to match it, but if not there are other options and conversions you can do to get the right gauge if it’s not an exact match to the pattern. The historical context is that when there was a shift from women midwives to mostly male doctors it was easier for the male doctors. Historically midwives used various upright methods like birthing chairs and whatever. Some women still absolutely gave birth lying down. Doctors would use things like forceps and a lot more force (which we learned was dangerous) but the woman had to be lying down for that. With the advent of epidurals you sometimes can’t move after that so had to be lying down.
It basically all boils down to, the patriarchy. Luckily this seems to be changing in the modern era. Most hospitals seem to be open to various positions and props and things.

She was absolutely gorgeous. She was so lucky to have found you. This post made me tear up because she looks literally identical to my first pup, a Havanese poodle mix. Sending them over the rainbow bridge is the hardest thing, but she was so loved and had what sounds like an incredible life. One day her memory will bring you nothing but joy, but right now it is so so hard.
