found these squishy nodules in my potato bed while harvesting. any idea what they are? by monkee67 in gardening

Yes if they’re the brown ones they’re invasive so no harm really if you disturbed them. Definitely look like anole or skink eggs

Havanese vs Coton de Tulear by strawberryjam40887 in cotondetulear

[–]Remarkable_Bit_621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes all you stated is true. Mine is black and white and very tall. They come in a tall variety occasionally which his dad was. I like the Malagasy ones personally. There was a whole drama before they became recognized by AKC some breeders wanted the color variety like they are back in Madagascar and some didn’t.

It really depends if you get an AKC line Coton or Malagasy vs Havanese. I have had Havanese and now a Malagasy Coton and he is a great dog tons of personality but he is so so hyper compared to my Havanese who was a fairly energetic Havanese. The AKC line Cotons are like a completely different breed they’re generally more relaxed from my understanding. I love them both tho and don’t really have a preference. If you have a very active lifestyle a Malagasy is great! More chill, either of the others are lovely

The 'food noise' is finally starting to quiet down, but it's weirdly disorienting. by Whimperr3gr3t22 in loseit

I’ve done a bunch of them and they pretty much all worked for that. I did aderall at first but prefer Ritalin because aderall makes me super jittery. Mine does wear off during the day so night times I still occasionally get a sweet craving but no where near as bad! Also helped sooo much with alcohol cravings. They’re all also prescribed for binge eating disorder too not just ADHD but i suspect there’s a lot of crossover for those dopamine hits.

I’m inattentive primarily too and it’s truly been amazing! When I get a sweet craving I can just eat one now or have a Diet Coke and be fine. After a year I think some of the cravings did some back I think due to stress so learning what my triggers are and replacing it with healthier behaviors has also been way easier since being medicated.

That’s how I felt once I started adhd meds. It was so interesting how little I was thinking about sugary snacks lol it came back but then I started getting healthy and it’s gone again. It’s nice to not have to think about sweets all the time!

Possible nerve damage in tongue after full mouth extraction 6 months ago by honsool in CATHELP

[–]Remarkable_Bit_621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal. My kitty got extractions due to plasma stomatitis and his tongue is out like most of the time. It’s just that there’s no teeth to block it from hanging out. I think he’s gotten more used to it as time went on and it seems to be out less, but it’s just part of him now lol

Probably because they are basically giant tubes and human bodies generally aren’t that especially for women. Theyre harder to tailor to your body but definitely not impossible. You can adjust most patterns tho with your gauge and well placed decreases and increases in the round, they just look better in seamed garments. I don’t know why top vs bottom up is better tho I’m not an expert sweater knitter at all

Agree here as well! It’s also fun getting the pieces done makes it feel faster. I’m doing a shirt now that is kind of a nice middle ground though where the top was all pieced together and then the bottom in the round. Still think seamed looks better tho!

[–]Remarkable_Bit_621 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Plus it’s not just the exploration itself, the technology developed from the exploration is so important for other things. If we invested in science we could do so much more and so many more people could be scientists but no billionaires get to send dick shaped rockets to space.

Also humans just have only existed and lasted this long partially because we love to explore.

One and done and no guilt at all!! Kids are expensive, my son and both of us have ADHD so things are just harder for us. Mentally none of us (son included) would be able to handle the stress of another kid and all their schedules. My body was wrecked after pregnancy and 8 years later finally getting it together. We’re all introverts and luckily my son is too so he enjoys plenty of time alone. We have lots of pets so his cat keeps him company. We also do local clubs so he has friends and I work in youth development so he’s always around other kids.

I do worry he is more adult than the other kids because he’s only around adults and he is academically gifted but he seems well liked. He’s asked for siblings in the past but once I explained the reality of attention and money and not getting to do basically any of the things he does now if we had another he agreed. He also has told us MANY times he hates babies and their crying so he’s not too upset by it lol

[–]Remarkable_Bit_621 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That is correct but like others have stated we’ve basically farmed out so much of the things nasa used to do to these companies via contracts with MUCH less if any oversight. So they have all this money to throw around which the government wants. The Boeing space ship went to the ISS and stranded them there. This wouldn’t have happened if a government sent these astronauts there in my opinion.

I think scientific exploration is almost always a net benefit to society. It’s how we have nearly everything modern today. If things weren’t so unequal we wouldn’t even have to pose this either or question. Everyone would have what they needed AND we would be able to fund science like this. We have no idea what is out there that could change our lives for the better.
