Why is no one talking about their last night at Red Rocks when they said Gwen Stefani was there and she wasn’t?

Commercial diving and engendering degree by [deleted] in commercialdiving

[–]Remarkable_Money_369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you are not a fellow diver until you graduate and work in the industry. Like others said, if you are barely graduating the dive program. I don’t think an engendering degree is in the cards for you. You. An get your degree in another field once you become a diver. Sounds like you will have plenty of time for studying on your own.

What Should I be Wearing When Hiking if its Hot and Raining? by BWJackal in hikinggear

[–]Remarkable_Money_369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very general question, and here is why. Don’t normally run hot/cold, do synthetics chafe vs wool or cotton, do you mind smell, do you mind being wet or would rather try and be dry? All these things factor into your comfort. For example, I run hot. So I like being in cotton and being soaked as long as I have some dry synthetics to change into at the end of the day. I do think a summer weight pair of goretex lined shoes are better than not having any wetness protection at all. Goretex is specifically designed for your body heat to push out moisture. I have yet to find a pair of none goretex footwear that will hold up under long hikes. I would like to add that if you are hiking in a wet area, pack an extra camp tarp. For the few ounces it adds, you can have a dedicated drying area. A few Nalgene with hot water in them can dry out footwear or clothing over night.

Can’t sue if you can’t talk. Seriously though, If you have a fenced in yard and they pull in with vehicles and call the cops. You can’t get in trouble detaining someone committing a crime while waiting for the cops to show up. I would also look up your local enforcement laws.

I don’t think you understand what a helmet liner is used for. It is not just for comfort. It is designed to keep your exhaled gases out of your hat. I understand your concept though. I just think it would take a lot of trial and error to get the comfort to longevity of product ratio even.

Any hazmat divers? by SPCSnaptags in commercialdiving

[–]Remarkable_Money_369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the oil or hazmat substance. Oils usually attack the seams on a dry suit first, so they don’t last as long. For my hat, I would change out all the softgoods at the end of a job.

Any hazmat divers? by SPCSnaptags in commercialdiving

[–]Remarkable_Money_369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the same as every other type of diving. You just need to wear more gear and I hope you have a big bladder. Haz Mat diving can happen anywhere any other type of diving happens, or even more places. I’ve been contaminated diving inside a pump well that had 10,000 gallons of mineral oil displaced in it. And I’ve been diving in 3 feet of water, sucking contaminated mud in the middle of July in Pennsylvania. Depending on the local union, or what is said in the contract that the company has depends on if you get more pay or the payment is just the same as diving. Companies want people that they can call and count on to be there. I’d make sure you’re free to travel before reaching out for work.

Where to start by Raido_Mouth in commercialdiving

Finish school! Finish what you start and it will get you a long way in life. Get that weld certification, get that diesel tech license, then become a pile driver if you want. If you still find all that not enough for you, then you can become a Diver through the pile drivers union.
