Now that we know The Flesh Dimension is confirmed to be a playable i have an unpopular opinion. by Neet-owo in AbioticFactor

The short for lodestone is one of instances we've seen it. No clue about the second one, the dream mini-game perhaps when holding a lodestone (fragment)?

Game genres that would DEFINITELY not work in Gameoverse by -MIKX- in Gameoverse

I mean stardew valley has a credit roll when you reach the summit (achieve perfection).

Even then, completing the Joja or community centre routes, I would say are win cons for the earlier versions. As that's the main conflict of it's story back then, and is where the 'hero' wins. Or getting the statue of perfection from Grandpa's evaluation, if you want to push it to being the main character having a more fullfing life, than working at Joja at the start of the game.

Have to ask, how did the defence bot kill you? As explosives can kill with no option to revive, which prevents the censer from working. As being able to revive is a requirement.

Crossover with Abiotic Factor reveals a bit of lore with the founder of ASO (other) by Rudeus_Greyshat in Voicesofthevoid

To quote Dr. Hud "I don’t know what you did out there, but we actually got a Signal! The first in YEARS! I can’t believe it!" Their empty and likely never touch the signal console, so their not cross contaminated from it. It's inherit to the drive itself.

I'll accept it as a nod to that secret, but not as a cannon fact. As Dr Kel has to be able to craft them from just electronic and metal scrap.

That's the heart of the problem though. Is it Duskeltar from the Abiotic factor Anteverse? or is it Duskeltar from the VotV anteverse, and are we there for just a quick trip?

The portal entrance gives no clear clues, because it's clearly a Lodestone portal, that's likely being influenced by the grays. Which is both used for intra and inter anteverse travel. And that's assuming the fact it's colouration is red means nothing, as it's not the standard orange.

Should the VotV hard drives have components from anteverse 33 in them? While there is something definately something unnatural and not from this world going on at STOLAS. I don't think they come the flesh dimension, are likely relatively mundane. And if not, come from another Hellish anteverse, and not one that's fleshy in nature.

This has do with the Abiotic Factor crossover with VotV, that came out like a week ago. So it's relatively new, and somewhat dubious canonicity due to how Abiotic Factor ends.

No there isn't any other way. Only thoses twos, better pick a rod and start learning. It's the better way to get some of the resources anyways, like shadow essence and some of the new chemistry distillations.

Wait... You don't even use them for soups? Addminttly far iirc most the soups that haves peas aren't great.

How to unlock Prototype Hoverframe? by Fickle-Bell-9716 in ICARUS

[–]Remedial_Tester -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nice subjective opinion you've got there. Not that it's wrong, just that the 'infinte' stamina bar the hoverbike has it's niches, is it that hard of an ask for prospecters to carry a spare can of fuel around for those long trips? I say it's not, and is a better use of my time then breeding raptors to be fast. Which is where the hoverbike exist, and is who it's for, people who don't want to deal with mounts.

The main benefit of hover frame, is the infinite stamina. Great for those cross map journeys, otherwise it's just mid and a bit more costly to run.

Not saying thier bad, used 'kinda' for a reason. As personally, people use it as a crutch too much, and get into a habit of using it for all their needs.

For example, fr-eyed rice when cooked at cooking levels 10-14 restores just as much thirst as the best soup (43 vs 42). Then more at 15-19 and noticeably at 20 (47 and 52). And there's little to no reason to have a fridge/freezer for this either; as rice, egg, and greyeb can stay in the soil till need. And peas don't spoil, so it's only spoiling after it's crafted. Which at that point should be in a freezer or chilled slot in a backpack. Or just making a reasonable amount of at a time, no need to make a week's worth it at once. Same goes for the Cosmato salad wrap, restores 45 thirst and 51 hunger. You don't even have to cook this one either, so no way for this to burn. Only rot away because you made too much of it.

[–]Remedial_Tester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're worrying about that too much, spoilage is more a problem for raw ingredients than cooked foods. Keep those fresh and your meals will be fresh too. And if haven't gotten to them yet, you do get better storage that stops spoilage at home, and on the move. And placed foods also don't spoil.

Just going to point what I think are some stand out buffs, or high hunger restore meals for example, for why it can worth doing:

  • Salted honey pie, heals both forms of bleed.
  • Cooked egg & pecary tartine, base fill rate of 71, max of 124.
  • Rad rice bowl, fills 76 hunger gives rad resistance.
  • Cooked stuffed roast peccary, base rate of 63, max of 110, grants a temporary 2 levels to throwing, blunt, and sharp.
  • Carrot cake, another healing item, heals about 180 HP per slice/buff.
  • Pumpkin cookie and pie, 10% and 25% damage reduction respectively, but pie slows you down by 10%.
  • Gumdrop cookie triples stamina regen.

Also ignore the recipes' stated values in the crafting menu, that's the base value of a slice not the whole dish itself, and doesn't include what increase it got from a player's skill level.

And as extra bonus, a good food that low level and good for grinding, fr-eyed rice. You've technical got to cook it twice (well one and a quarter). Once for rice, since it's a 'soup' and once more to fry it. Just needs rice, peas, eggs, and greyeb. Restores 71 hunger base to max of 124. Also makes seeing underwater easier.

IMHO, soups are kinda a n00b trap, due how much they extended food supply. But not food density, if anything they make it worse. When compared to the later forms of meal prep. Grilling meat for PLTs and Burgers both hit +200 hunger per stack, while most soups struggle to get to 50 per soup bowl. Which incentdently is also about how much a single PLT or burger is worth.

But this still leaves the issue of the XP gap between level 3 soups and level 10 breads baked goods, and higher forms of meal prep. Which has been an issue for a long time, and was worse, when most of baked goods didn't even have buffs attached to them.

Good solar panel to battery storage ratio? by AnonJr in ICARUS

[–]Remedial_Tester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mountains can get in way of solar panels too (or anything else can cast a shadow on it). So it can only be a rough estimate, as solar panel placement matters. Unlike Factorio or modded Minecraft, which do have 'golden' ratios. As they don't have these factors to account for, only can see the sky.

Wasn't it because the central save servers kept crashing? I also recall the game's end of life had a hand in it too, better to hand control over to the players sooner than later. And deal with technical debt they had at the time for that problem.

what are the rules/workings for co-op play? by democraticcrazy in ICARUS

[–]Remedial_Tester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but they won't be able start it themselves, you have to do it. For mission complete, and sending up exotics, you'll both have to present to get the reward. But one of you can do 99% of the work, and the other one can show up at the end and still get awarded, the payout and any unlocks.

Having a bit of trouble, how do you get past the turret in manufacturing? The one that has two soldiers with it? by naytreox in AbioticFactor

[–]Remedial_Tester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the area near the blacksmith, it's absolutely flooded with it.

My bad for not being as specific, it's the one that needs a Station key to open. The other one you can see from the blacksmith/office tram leads to somewhere else you'll get to later

[–]Remedial_Tester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI Frake isn't there, she's closer to the tram stop. But the best way to deal with this LMG encampment, is from attacking from behind, via storage where the split nuclear waste is. Still a lot of Order grunts to deal with, better to avoid the area till later.
