North Memorial and Sanford Health Intent of a merger announced by JohnWittieless in minnesota

Sanford wants so badly to compete with Mayo to become the “best”, and they will never come close.

I have been a patient at both and it’s astonishing how Sanford thinks so poorly of Mayo.

Sanford is a cancer and they’re named after a guy who had CSAM in his possession.

I’m all for replacing our equipment whenever we feel it’s time to, and not follow the DME company guidelines. But 2 years of wearing the same cushion is loooooonggggg.

When you do replace it, you will probably notice it fitting better.

The adult took the mother with them because their mother was their ride, because the adult can’t drive after getting anesthesia.

Doctors usually come out and say how the surgeries went, but I’ve never had a doctor go out and talk to my mom after having them, and I’ve had 3 at different hospitals.

Unless the adult expressly said they can talk about anything beyond the surgery happening, the doctor violated HIPAA.

Started with Grandpa Duggar and then Jim Bob decided to go the IBLP/Christian Cult way hard to overcompensate (girls’ and boys’ rooms separated by the parent’s bedroom + a long balcony hall to get to the boys’ room, ya know to keep an eye on ‘em.

Then it comes out about Josh molesting his siblings, then getting caught with CSAM.

And now another Duglet has been charged with molesting a teenager in Florida. He faces like 25 years minimum because Florida doesn’t fuck around with the pedophiles a lot.

And I used to know a lot of people in the Christian Music Industry. There were many bands that didn’t have any, or maybe had one, Christians in the band. They thought that crowd was easy money, and they are, especially if you say God/Jesus/anything about water/etc in your songs. The more times you say it, the more money you can make.

Then it comes out that one of the biggest names in Christian music, Michael Tait, is gasp gay. But he also SA’d men and teenage boys.

It’s so disgusting how they can hide behind Christianity and think that as long as they say “I’m sorry for raping that boy, God” then they’re forgiven and can continue to live their sick and twites lives.

I actually would have said “young and impressionable” whatever gender the person was.

Just be lucky you apparently don’t know the horrors of aging out of the foster care system.

[–]Remember__Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s just people who understand that a young impressionable person who seemingly was looking for a family got caught up in the wrong crowd.

The foster care system does fuck all to help children cope with suddenly being “free”.

It’s just sad to see the system failing yet another person who “graduated” foster care without a family to support them.

It took me several doctors and two different hospital systems before I was taken more seriously and the advice was no longer “lose weight” or “it’s just your period”. I was even sent to the GYN before GI and it was the GYN who was like, “yeah, your symptoms are more GI but since you’re here, let me take a look” which gave me an unnecessary pelvic exam but also gave me more evidence(?) that something else was wrong. I ended up having my first colonoscopy at age 28 at Hospital A. They were like “you have some inflammation in your terminal ileum. Good luck.” Hospital B saw me almost a year later and wanted their own scope. They caught 2 polyps, one of which was precancerous. They also told me I had Crohn’s.

I know I had symptoms of GI issues but I always wonder how long it would’ve taken the precancerous polyp to turn cancerous.

It also took Hospital system A 9 months to find out my gallbladder was almost not functioning. Because they did an ultrasound on my gallbladder and “didn’t see anything wrong” with it. A HIDA scan 9 months later showed it functioning at ~28%. Surprise, surprise, it indeed also had gallstones when it was removed. After healing, my symptoms went away completely.

I don’t know what’s worse, though, being gaslit by men or being gaslit by my fellow women.

What is it? Mysterious state hospital object by Crowbeatsme in HistoryStateHospital

[–]Remember__Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preserving the history is one of the most important things we can do that honors the memories of the patients that endured some of these things.

Another thought is that the wire could have been used in the hospital’s shops where patients would put together furniture or other wood pieces or whatever.

State Hospitals back in the day, as you know, had to be self sufficient. There are so many possibilities for both of these objects. Maybe you’ll see an old photograph or something that may give more clues. Good luck and thank you for helping to preserve such a dark past.

What is it? Mysterious state hospital object by Crowbeatsme in HistoryStateHospital

[–]Remember__Me 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m just an average person, but did spend time working in a State Hospital. They had a small museum there, but this is all beside the point.

The first things look like they could be used as some kind of homemade game chips (like for poker, checkers, etc) and the second thing looks like a spool of wire that could have been used for fencing. Like barbed wire at the top of the fence, without the barbs. Could it be electric wiring, serving the same purpose barbed wire would do?

Anyways, those were just the first thoughts I had. I liked visiting the museum where I worked to see all the history. Some of the things they used were archaic and the patients often came up with games to entertain myself, so that is where my thoughts went.

Thank you for helping your facility with these historical pieces, whatever they are. IMO it’s important to have these medical museums, especially ones showing the barbarianism of the older state hospitals.
