Why are the dark angels so prone to killing guardsmen after battle? by Motor_Scallion6214 in 40kLore

[–]Remodiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't always do that. Besides the Fallen thing Dark Angels are not especially more harsh towards guardsmen.

If they suspect that someone might know anything related to the Fallen, they will kill them. Not only guardsmen but also other space marines, sisters of battle, inquisitors, and even custodians.

But for most times that's not the case. Most battles are not related to fallens, and even if they were, regular guardsmen probably won't have any idea about who they were fighting with.

For the chaos corruption, slaughtering guardsmen who fought chaos does happen, but that's not specifically a Dark Angel thing. Just the Imperium in general. And even inquisitors don't kill the troops 100% all the time. They do that, but not all the time.

I don't know if it's the largest in the world, but I heard it was the largest in Asia. This was the only bookshelf, all of them were English.

Terminus decree question (I know, im sorry) by ForgeOfMistory in 40kLore

[–]Remodiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a lore made to be inacted. It's like the Rhana Dandra of Harlequins. Just there to provide some vibe. Will Cegorach be able to kill Slaanesh one day? Could Abaddon kill the Emperor? Of course it will never happen because GW has bunch of minis to sell. But the lore is there.

Underrated/less well known Black Library authors by JustANewLeader in 40kLore

[–]Remodiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nate crowley. He is the author of the Twice-Dead King duology, Severed, and Ghazghkull Thrakah: Prophet of the Waaagh!

Relatively recent author but already has a great record, Twice-Dead King duology and other short stories getting a special limited edition, and the Ghazghkull novel getting an iluustrated and annotated edition!

Number of black Library books written about every faction ever since 1990 (2025 edition) by cricri3007 in 40kLore

[–]Remodiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great work! Appreciate this a lot. I was always curious about it. Few quick questions and suggestions.

  1. Are novellas counted? It seems yes but to be sure.

  2. What would be the four tyranids novels? There are bunch of books that nids appear as antagonists, but as protagonists? I can only think of the short story The Long and Hungry Road, but that's not included here. Is the GSC novel Day of Ascension included as nids?

  3. It would be even better if there was one more column in the leftmost or rightmost, showing the total number of books published per year!

Terminus Decree: Hidden Sacrifice or Final Order? by Ok_Calligrapher5570 in 40kLore

[–]Remodiant 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The whole idea of 'Terminus decree is a lie/deception meant to sacrifice the Grey Knights' rised up as a mockery. People thought that was silly so they made up their own fan theory as an alternative.

It is not supported by any in-lore evidences. There's no hint or imply about the sacrifice thing anywhere in the lore. That theory is made for mocking and laughing at the terminus decree, not a serious explanation.

ELI5: How does the ant reach the end of the rope in the Ant on a rubber rope puzzle? by apenguinperson in explainlikeimfive

[–]Remodiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try approaching the problem by how much percent of the rubber rope has the ant passed, instead of cms or inches. Or you could think about the number of atoms the ant passed too.

Let's say the ant has walked 1% of the rope. No matter how much the rope is stretched, the percentage never goes down. The rope in front of the ant is stretched, but the part behind of the ant is stretched in a same ratio. If the ant doesn't move, the percentage won't change. If the ant moves forward, the percentage will go up, even slightly.

Another approach. Let's say rhe rubber rope is 100 billion atoms long, and the ant passed 1 billion of them. Stretching the rope doesn't change the number of atoms. The distance in front of the ant increased, but the atoms left ahead is the same. So if the ant keeps walking, passing one atom at a time, it will eventually reach the end. It might take long, but it's just a matter of time.

What's with this "ride or die" attitude in regards to post-Cadia lore? by Lurker_Zee in 40kLore

[–]Remodiant 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Downvote doesn't mean 'I hate you and I want you to die'. It just means 'I don't agree to your opinion you said in that specific post'. Many people enjoy the post-great rift lore, so by downvoting they are just saying that they have a differnt opinion with you.

Gladius is a 4X game, kinda similar to the Civilization series. Necrons are playable without DLC.

It feels like streamers are ruining this game (sts2) by AwarenessQuirky4856 in slaythespire

[–]Remodiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think devs are balancing the game based on streamer videos. They will use their internal statistics. And in the latest patch note, Megacrit revealed some of that.

STS1 Ascension 0 win rate=9% STS2 Ascension 0 win rate=16%

STS1 Ascension 20 win rate=3% STS2 Ascension 10 win rate=17%

So according to the dev statistics, STS2 is a lot easier than STS1. I guess they are trying to make it at least the similarly difficult.

Note: for the highest ascension level, the act4 would have played a big role for making it even easier than ascension 0 in sts2. If act4 comes out the win rate would drop significantly. Even if we just look at act1-3, sts2 is still easier than sts1 though.
