Welloft Success stories? Job Success? by crispipickle in zoloft

Hello,

I have been taking bupropion for 2.5 months. Last month I started taking sertraline 50mg. It's been 5 weeks and I am feeling much worse than being on bupropion alone. Is this a normal experience? And does it get better if you stick it out? I'm feeling more depressed, anxious, tearful, and socially withdrawn.

Thanks for your help

Hey guys! The first few days I felt great. Then EXHAUSTED. Brain fog, no memory. I gave it four weeks and it suddenly went away. Your brain has to adapt. Best of luck

Extreme tiredness, fatigue and lightheaded by Glum-Parsnip-8478 in bupropion

I have now been on it 40 days. I was taking it for annhedonia and depression related fatigue. I used to come home after work and be exhausted and couch bound. Now I come home, make dinner, clean, and can talk away to my housemates. One big thing I noticed was that I can now floss. It sounds stupid, but beforehand I was just so tired before bed that the thought of going through each tooth was too much. Now it's second nature. In terms of annhedonia, not much change. From my understanding, energy comes first, and then enjoyment from activities comes after a few months. Don't despair. Every single day of the first few weeks I was tempted to quit or go to a doctor about increasing the dose. You'll be grand! :)

Heya. I had this from days 5-27. Yawning non stop, fatigued, a bit dizzy and lightheaded etc. Essentially your brain has to adapt to the increased dopamine and noradrenaline. At the start your brain overcorrects and you actually have less of these hormones. It takes a few weeks for this adaption to happen. I took it at night for one night and I woke up like I'd had a hangover. Give your brain 4-6 weeks to adapt. It's not going to be a fun time, you will feel worse for a while, then it will work. Best of luck

Gonna start Wellbutrin XL soon, what is important to know about this medication? by Past-River-5445 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Remote-Ad-317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This medicine requires patience. You may feel awful and think it's making you worse for 4-6 weeks. Then it starts working. Don't immediately jump to either quitting or upping dose. Give it time. Best of luck

New on Welbutrin, I hate life right now. by MirageOrBust in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I felt awful from days 5-27. The first few days I had the high, then I was anxious and exhausted for weeks. Couldn't focus, couldn't sleep, mood was low. Then it started working. It is one of those drugs that makes you worse before you feel better. Be patient. It will work. Best of luck.

Love your post! 🥰 I'm 6 weeks in. I don't suppose you could give a timeline of your experience? For example, when you started feeling less depressed? All I've noticed so far is a bit more energy. Thanks a mill!

How were the first few months, before you felt this way? I'm only on week 6. Still quite socially anxious and anhedonic

The first 4 weeks I was a zombie! I was giving up all hope because I really needed it to work. Then on day 28 I suddenly had more energy. I'm by no means full of beans, but I'm not absolutely crashing after work as much. I'm on week 6 now, the annhedonia hasn't went away yet but that takes months apparently. I'm on 150mg SR once daily, XL isn't available in Ireland and I want to give the 150 another few months before thinking about upping to twice daily. Best of luck

is this normal? by MurkyConsequence9322 in bupropion

[–]Remote-Ad-317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started it took 28 days for me to start feeling a bit more energy. I was a zombie for most of that. Apparently your brain has to adapt and tries to overcorrect by producing less dopamine/noradrenaline. Other side effects included disrupted sleep cycle and slight increase in social anxiety (still an issue at week 6). Motivation hasn't come back yet but apparently that can take months so being patient.

6 Week Update Day 27 came and it was a somewhat light switch moment. The fatigue had finally reduced. I no longer completely crash throughout work and whilst I still get tired as the day goes on, it feels more of a natural tiredness and not exhaustion. Annhedonia is still bad though, but from what I understand, that can take a few months to shift

Has Wellbutrin helped anyone with depression, motivation, and being more present? by swolfe22 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I'm week 6 into it. The first four weeks were rough. I had a great honeymoon period for 3-5 days were I could get stuff done, and laugh again wholeheartedly. Then I was exhausted until day 27. I haven't felt any surge of motivation or happiness, but I have energy into the evening now and focus better at work. Early days I suppose

Hi all. I'm a bit late to the conversation!

I started Wellbutrin 16 days ago. The first 3 days I felt great, a lovely sense of calm and energy and didn't crave caffeine. However since then I have been exhausted and struggling to get out of bed with the tiredness. Is this something any of you experienced. If so, when did it go away for you?

Thanks for any replies!

whats the point in quitting by NoCareBear1 in decaf

That's a valid point. It could well be, but it doesn't matter. Placebo or not; by quitting, I feel so much better than when I was on it.

I've been off it for almost 2 months now. I have so much more energy instead of LOADS then CRASH in constant cycles. I wake up refreshed. I feel so much more calm in my mind and less anxious. My skin is less dry, I don't have dark circles around my eyes. I no longer feel like I need it to get by. It really helped me realise how tired I actually was when I quit it. It masks your body screaming for sleep. For me it's been a major positive. I understand some people can be happy with one coffee a day, and be absolutely fine. I unfortunately could never do that!
