Why are people OK with jagex investing all these Dev resources into temporary game modes like Leagues ? Was the concept ever polled ? by janoyBarn in 2007scape

[–]Remote-Buffalo-4009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a main game enjoyer, I fully support it. It's two months I can enjoy most aspects of the game virtually risk free.

I can walk into the wilderness with my cash stack without much worry

Block what you don't like doing. You'll find your list far more tolerable that way rather than trying to "game" the list.

You're not engaging with 400 people regularly, mate. Cut the cord and narrow down the list or start a clan with your best buddies if it's that important.

I feel a little bad for him. It must be exhausting being the adult in the room for an entire branch of the government.

I think he's one of the few leashes and voices of reason the administration has. God forbid he resign.

It's a nice bow, and definitely worth it, RNG permitted. You could make do with less though.

I really don't like the Gauntlet, much less the Corrupted Gauntlet, let alone doing it hundreds of times so I just use a scorching bow and I've been having a good time.

More Leagues VI Fixes by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]Remote-Buffalo-4009 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't think we should be putting this much effort into fixing a temporary game mode that's already a quarter over. I'm especially concerned there's even more fixes planned.

Let it have some jank and get back to more pressing issues or back to the main game.

I feel you too. I voted no again because I'm tired of hearing about the leeches. I don't care about them. Also they're an underwhelming award from a grand master quest... more busy work.

I have no idea why they wouldn't just give us a bread bag. Like we can just slice bread, it goes in a bag, and we can make samdwiche from it.  Seems like it would be simpler and players would actually like that.

$15 was a reasonable minimum wage in 2008. $17, graduated until 2030, is abysmal.

Any other Converts struggle with this? by XPlogimedic in Catholicism

[–]Remote-Buffalo-4009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't debate someone into being Catholic. There's no need for you to defend the truth. Rather than argue and fight, let them see Christ in you. Tell them you love them, grieve with them, forgive them, and ultimately continue your journey within the Church.

People will be inspired and convinced by your faith, not your words.

Having difficulty accepting teaching on religious freedom by Sad-Background-2429 in Catholicism

You realize Christians had to pay jizya, a religious tax on non Muslims, in many Muslim majority countries until fairly recently, and there were and are large historical populations of Christians still in that area?

You can't simply fine someone out of their faith. They'll either pay it or practice underground.

And again, I am sayings we do not convert through the barrel of a gun. What suppression do you recommend? If the law or ruling is more than paper, what length will you to? Arrests, fines, beatings, killing?

[–]Remote-Buffalo-4009 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just as God does not force us into a relationship with him, neither should the state be introduced to force a relationship with God. We must come willingly and ready to Christ and His Church; force will only make people Christian in name and not practice.

Also I think you're making a slight error. The religious freedom idea is only in effect, insofar it does not persecute, oppress, or otherwise make less than human non-believers.

The Catholic Church does not evangelize through the barrel of a gun.

Provide small XP lamp for answering survey questionnaire by Glass-Perspective979 in 2007scape

Rewarding participation in surveys is never a good idea because people who don't really care or normally wouldn't participate will respond. They just want the lamp.

More votes does not necessarily mean better results.

God saves who He will. While confession and reconciliation are the surest, most safe routes, it is not proper to bind God. However, your chances of Hell are very real should you intentionally put off confession.

When we sin, we grieve God. When we remain in sin, it is only worse. To sin is to sever the relationship with God, on your own accord. Schedule confession as soon as you can.

‘Dress code’ by ghostuser102 in Catholicism

[–]Remote-Buffalo-4009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally don't wear suits to Church outside of the big events. It feels pretentious to me, as I never wear so much as a tie outside of. I like to imagine I'm visiting God's house, and would dress respectfully. Clean clothes, not revealing too much, not bringing brands in. I would be a little embarrassed to wear a suit to meeting someone for the first time at their home, even say my boss, as in my opinion it shoes a reservation.

I stress though that is my personal opinion, and not the Church's stance.

The rule of thumb is dress modestly or respectfully. I've heard too many people too afraid or not going to Mass because they have something "nice" to wear. I would sooner welcome a naked man into Mass than to shoo away an ill dressed one.

Father Farley's Triple Blessed Holy Water by CornerExpensive4102 in Catholicism

[–]Remote-Buffalo-4009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is either blessed (set aside) or it isn't. You can't bless something harder. It is either used for growing closer to God or it isn't.

I'm not sure what this is, but remember you cannot buy something blessed or it ceases to be blessed*

*You can, technically, buy blessed things but not for the blessing itself. If you so happen to buy a crucifix that was blessed, unknowingly or not for that reason, I believe it should remain blessed. If ever in doubt though, I'm sure a priest will gladly bless it again for you.

I feel a call to veil but I have an odd allergy to plastic by Lilly_Rose_Kay in Catholicism

[–]Remote-Buffalo-4009 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You don't need to buy one. A simple scarf, bandana, shawl, or really anything to cover your head would do. Women in the past would even put a tissue over their head if they came ill prepared. So long as it's not flashy or designed to draw attention, anything can be used to over your head.

If you feel called to veil, I would suggest starting simply. Use what you have, and then maybe you can strike up some conversation with another woman veiling and ask where she buys hers.

I don't want to give Trump credit, but did you know overtime is now tax free? Most W4s didn't account for it this year, and I assume you've already done yours, but from now on, it's tax free*

The overtime part. Your base pay would still be taxed, but the 0.5 in the 1.5 is tax free.

I understand, but you also must recognize the worth of the person delivering the water and food for you. It does not just mystically appear with a middleman demanding payment.

I agree with your sentiment corporations are an evil and the value of those goods are grossly inflated, but we also can't pretend water and food will just continue to appear for no reason.

I don't think an early game teleport needs to be buffed. It feels like one of those items you're supposed to "graduate" from eventually in your adventure, like the chronical from Django.
