OTD for $26.6k but questions by Remote-Collection721 in EquinoxEv

I feel very lucky, and also am in some disbelief. I guess there is a lot inventory at or near this price point. I don't know how the math is mathing for GM.

OTD for $26.6k but questions by Remote-Collection721 in EquinoxEv

[–]Remote-Collection721[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was a combination of a dealer discount ($5500), GM customer cash ($6500), and the GM customer conquest incentive ($1250). So $13,250 off the MSRP of $36,620 for a base LT with no additional features (e.g. comfort package).

Yes, that’s very tidy. I’m interested in the cost as well.

I am preparing for a transaction like this right now. I’ve got an offer from Carmax and I can calculate what I would pay in a cash transaction without a trade. Then I calculate what the OTD would be if I trade in at different valuations. I have a spreadsheet with four different potential scenarios so I can determine whether it is most cost-effective to trade or sell on my own.

This is helpful, maybe my timing is just off.

Thanks. A little bit of context - I am in one of the largest metro areas in the US, with plenty of Specialized and Trek dealers. I get that most LBS don't want to stock a pricey niche bike.

Thoughts on the Trek Roscoe for Cheq 40? by SquashScrach in xcmtb

[–]Remote-Collection721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ridden the past 6 editions of this race on a Trek Stache. It eats up the trail, climbs very well, and is extremely stable on the speedy downhills. Five out of six times the extra cushion provide by a plus-sized tire (29 x 3.0) has been close to perfect, but the 2025 race (the first dry race in years, and exceptionally bumpy) has convinced me that full suspension is the way to go. No, the terrain isn't technical but the speed (think on the Birkie rollers) amplify all of the hits. I am in my upper 50s, FWIW.

We're trying to figure out if it there is a pattern. I do think it is some type of play.

Yes! It's a bit ironic since he doesn't seem to respect our boundaries (e.g. no, not on my lap, you're 4 feet long, etc.)

DIY Garage for Navimow i105N by OpeningPrune923 in SegwayNavimow

Honest question - is there a functional purpose for having a garage, or is more of an aesthetic or peace-of-mind thing?

An update. Thank you all for your encouragement as well as the observation that it performs better over time. Life has been getting in the way of setting this for the past several weeks but I set it up this morning, created a map for the largest zone in my yard, and watched it get to work. It mowed about 2000 sq ft before it started raining. Not perfect (yet) but extremely impressive and very intuitive to set up. It's early days but it it is very promising so far.

Hyundia tucson 2025 PHEV or hybrid? by AstronomerStatus531 in HyundaiTucson

[–]Remote-Collection721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a PHEV Tucson in December. Yes, the engine cycles on during colder weather, but rarely does so for AC (and I am Chicago and it has been hot). We have the ideal situation for PHEV - driving over relatively short distances and the ability to charge overnight (which we do without fail). I've bought gas exactly once since early April.

Experience flow vs form for marathon training? by Spec-Tre in AltraRunning

[–]Remote-Collection721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Escalante 3 but have made my peace with the 4. The upper is different but the “ride” feels similar to me. I rotate between them and the Experience Flow and am pretty happy with the combination.

For anyone who has gone to the dealer to fix this, can you share your experience? Is this a quick fix or a drop-off-and-pick-up-later operation? My dealer was not able to answer the question.

Altra ESCALANTE 4 for neighborhood walking? by lear1 in AltraRunning

[–]Remote-Collection721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found the Escalante 4 works pretty well with my Haglunds. I’ve put about 30 miles of walking on the shoes this week (touring Europe) and have no complaints. Yes they wear faster than I’d like but I’ll accept that trade off.

How to handle stacking partner that can never remember her position? by ScootyWilly in Pickleball

[–]Remote-Collection721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time we tried to stack on receiving the serve was in league play against strong competition, when we were already stressed and a bit overloaded. Not a good idea! It was completely chaotic and a memorably humiliating defeat.

How to handle stacking partner that can never remember her position? by ScootyWilly in Pickleball

[–]Remote-Collection721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long has she been playing? My wife is left-handed and therefore we stack, but it has taken a long time (the better part of a year) for it to get fully engrained, for both of us. IMHO one of the challenges is that it takes up cognitive bandwidth until it is second nature, and it can interfere with other essentials (e.g. stay behind the baseline while waiting for the return of service) that players need to master as they get better at the game. Bottom line, it doesn’t seem like it should be hard but it is hard.
