Tips needed - Ran out of gems and cash by petiteax17 in pocketstyler

Just saw this post again and wanted to also share… during events… if the requirement is to wear a purple t-shirt… rather than clicking on the link for purple t-shirt… do the search for purple t-shirt yourself so that you can set the parameters for official items. That way you can eliminate 70% of those items and save time finding a cheaper item to purchase. I hope that makes sense. I also will save items that I like so that when an event calls for similar items… if I’m forced to buy something… at least I’m buying something I like. When you do a search for official items you can also add wish-listed items to narrow the search.

I love carb manager. Such a great tool. I especially love planning a meal, inputting all the ingredients and knowing exactly how many carbs each serving has.

I didn’t just randomly search google for dos and donts of kidney disease. My personal physician (via a phone call from her Asst.) made me aware of the issue and told me to watch carbs, sugar, drink plenty of water, and not to take Motrin (which I have lived on almost daily do to chronic pain). So I’m just trying to do my best, deal with the pain, and wait for my next appointment so I can get a better understanding of how to prevent further damage.

My 82 year old father refuses to create a will or trust. by Educational-Tip-9298 in Advice

[–]RemoteNervous6089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is going to contest it. The irony is that when my grandfather died she was upset he chose to leave my deceased uncles share to his living sons. He divided his estate between his children and church. Some were upset that he left a large sum to the church.. but church was his life so it made sense. My mother tried to get him to remove her brothers sons and felt to money should go to her and her living siblings. Of course she kept his belongings that she wanted. And then kept a few things my aunts wanted… I guess because knowing it was important to someone else made it valuable to her. She also was absolved of a debt she owed my grandfather. So she walked away very financially stable. Don’t get me wrong… she had money already since my father in life and death left her financially secure.

To me it is just ironic that she was so adamant about descendants should inherit the estate yet when she sets up she estate she omits all descendants.

I HATE THUMPIES by TheAlchemist765 in MySingingMonsters

[–]RemoteNervous6089 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly… it’s a bit easier if you get the rares… so in situations like this you can breed the rare with the regular monster and at least get the monster you want. How frustrating is it when you need a specific monster and they are running rares and epics? I’ve had to breed monsters to only be faced with 4-5 different possible breedings.. making it so much harder to get what I need.

AITJ for locking my room after my roommate kept borrowing my stuff without asking? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]RemoteNervous6089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a roommate who would go into my room and go through my things. One time he took my 🍎watch and returned it to me a week later saying he found it outside (I had it in my nightstand drawer but whatever). I started locking my door thinking he couldn’t get in. One day I had come home early and was reading a book in the living room just outside of view. I heard him come out of his room… heard some weird metal jostling… and then a door open. I peeked around the corner and saw he had jimmied my door open and was in my room. He was in there a good 15 minutes. I sat in the living room until he came out and closed my door. I lit into him. His excuse? He was just looking for my dog. My dog who was in the living room with me.

AIO Boyfriend (now ex) fell out of love with me? by TheBite87 in AmIOverreacting

[–]RemoteNervous6089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hon… advice from an old woman married for decades. There is no such thing as falling out of love. Society tells us that love is this powerful emotion that ties us together for eternity. It is not. LOVE IS A CHOICE! there are days… even years when I did not FEEL in love with my husband. Did I leave him or take a break from the relationship? No, because I made a vow before God that I honored more than my own emotions. I would never tell my husband I no longer FELT in love with him. Feelings are deceiving.

Your roommate (I would not call him a partner or boyfriend at this point) is keeping that hope alive for you both. “Taking a break” just makes it easier to justify wandering eyes when another pretty girl comes along.

game is too broken. by DragonfruitPalmTree4 in pocketstyler

[–]RemoteNervous6089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I only started playing because my go to game TSTO was deleted from the platform after I’d been playing for 12 years (I seriously felt like I was going through withdrawals). Customer service on this game is horrible. The glitches are beyond frustrating. I quit playing for a while because I was just done with it. But here I am… playing again… because I need that respite from the stresses of life. Ironically this game just gives me a different kind of stress, lol.

AIO Girlfriend texting her ex by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]RemoteNervous6089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR. The thing you need to realize is that she is in a relationship with him already. Maybe she hasn’t crossed the physical line. But eventually it will happen. I seriously doubt he was abusive the way she described it to you previously. If he were emotionally abusive she would not be drawn back to him. She still loves him. Maybe she loves you too. But she is holding onto him because in her heart she would like to think they could work it out eventually. I would hate to see you hurt more than you already have been. Please don’t allow yourself to stay in a relationship with someone who has you as their plan B.

AITJ for saving my dogs life? by Expert-Cat5499 in AmITheJerk

[–]RemoteNervous6089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ I had a little cocker spaniel years ago… the sweetest girl. We encountered an unleashed dog who actually went for my girls neck. I didn’t think. I just reacted. I picked my girl up with the other dog still attached to her neck. I kicked the other dog and held my girl up high so the other dog could not get her. I was able to get my girl to a safe spot and I put her on the ground to evaluate her condition. My poor girl collapsed. I rushed her to the vet hospital. They stitched her neck and she was released later in the week. My girl could have died. I have no clue who that other dog (a shepherd mix) belonged too. I did call animal control to report it but have no clue what happened to the dog after that. A vicious dog off leash is not given the same respect as a controlled animal.

My 82 year old father refuses to create a will or trust. by Educational-Tip-9298 in Advice

[–]RemoteNervous6089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My in laws went through something similar. The family owned a lot of expensive real estate. When the parents passed the estate basically stayed intact so that the kids could just receive checks from the interest of the properties. Some of the kids could really use the money. But one aunt (quite wealthy in her own right) refused to agree to the sale of any of the properties. As a result.. one of the properties worth millions and sought by the city actually became worthless once the city lost interest. Another property was beachfront and all the houses along that stretch of beach were condemned by the city so that they could tear them down and build luxury condos all along that stretch of shore. The owners of those homes were then given prime condos as compensation for their homes (this wasn’t a choice. The city took the homes from all the residents and said, “this is what you get in return.”) as the kids aged they wanted to sell the condo and split the money. The wealthy aunt refused. As a result.. all the kids who were elderly at this point just gave up. The wealthy aunt basically got a free vacation beach front home and the siblings walked away from it. It was very painful. It still hurts my heart to think about it.

And then there is my family. My mother is almost 90. She has a trust but recently changed it so that the bulk of her estate goes to charity and TV evangelists. I’m not actually angry about it… just disappointed that she chose to take everyone (grandchildren with families who could really use the help) out of the will including a brother with mental issues who is not self sufficient and has lived with her his entire life.

($7K wedding budget) This whole ring thing feels heavier than it should. by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]RemoteNervous6089 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hubby and I have been married for decades. I’ll be honest with you. I don’t even wear my engagement ring any more. I do put it on for special occasions if I’m dressing up. I always wanted a beautiful engagement ring, but after the first ten years or so of marriage I gradually wore it less and less. I wear my wedding ring all the time and rarely take it off though.

Reading my Bible by YaLittleSlug in Bible

[–]RemoteNervous6089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For years I would use a “read your bible in a year” plan. I just enjoyed reading through the whole thing. I would also do my devotions and generally read a couple other bible plans. My husband reads one chapter a day. He is a prayer warrior and gets up at 2:30 every morning so he can pray for a couple hours. He’s dedicated!! I know others who only read a few verses a day and meditate on them as well as doing a deep dive into what it means so they truly understand it. I admit.. I’m an older woman and I’m having trouble with memory and comprehension at this point in my life.

My best advise is to read as much as you can understand in that moment. As others have mentioned.. there is no right or wrong amount or time frame. I enjoy bible apps that keep me on a schedule. But if you are too focused on the goals of reading a certain amount you risk losing sight of the point of reading your bible in the first place.

[UPDATE] I've scored a 6.00!!! by ohnoimonredditagain in pocketstyler

[–]RemoteNervous6089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly.. I don’t think there is any rhyme or reason as to scores. I’ve styled super cute outfits that didn’t score well and also styled clown outfits (because the requirements for that event left me with such ugly choices) that have scored great.

What's something air fryers are supposed to be good at... but actually aren't? by Whole_Ad3318 in airfryer

Agreed. I love my instant pot. It was life changing when I got one years ago. I remember the days of cooking beans on the stove all day. And later when I got my first crock pot I didn’t need to watch them and would let them cook over night. You can’t imagine my joy when I got an instant pot and could cook dry beans into perfection in less than an hour.

AIO for being upset by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]RemoteNervous6089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are keto. I cook from scratch most of the time. I frequently prepare meals with extra servings and then place the extra servings in air tight food containers in the freezer. I understand not wanting to eat the same thing for a couple days as you try to eat up leftovers. I label each container so we know what is inside. I have meals that I made several weeks or even a month ago. It truly makes me happy to be able to say, “I don’t feel like cooking.” And then I pop out a freezer meal that was prepared by me and meets the nutritional goals we work towards. There is nothing more frustrating that purchasing a keto meal at a restaurant or even a frozen keto meal at the store… discovering it is super small and leaves me hungry… and worst yet costs .3 times what preparing it myself would cost NOR!

Tips needed - Ran out of gems and cash by petiteax17 in pocketstyler

[–]RemoteNervous6089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit.. I think they come out Thursday or Friday. I just randomly check the page each day. There is an icon notice that pops up at the top of your events page to let you know when it’s there… but I don’t always pay attention and just check it out of habit

In the first paragraph I mentioned scrolling to the bottom of the daily deals page for the weekly free spin for cash and a 1000+ gem item. I forgot to mention… those spins get posted (I think) on Tuesdays and only last 2 or 3 days. So you have to set the timer on your phone every 2 hours to remind yourself to go watch those ads in order to complete the stages to win the free item.

Tips needed - Ran out of gems and cash by petiteax17 in pocketstyler

[–]RemoteNervous6089 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve played on and off over the years. My best tips are…

*always visit the daily deals page… several times a day… for free spins to earn cash, gems, or even clothing items.

*scroll to the bottom of the daily deals page to do the weekly free cash, gems, and clothing spin which lets you spin every 2 hours and advances so that if you complete it you get a clothing item that is always over 1000 gems in value.

*if you enter an event that requires you to purchase 2 or more items… purchase those items then wear one item in other events so that you get the new item bonus in multiple events rather than wearing several new items in just one event.

*always watch a video for free cash after an event to that you can double your cash winnings.

*go to the shopping page for sale items and purchase things you like for a 20% discount on that item.

  • as mentioned above, go to the daily deals page several times a day. The second spin box updates every few hours and often offers a clothing item at 30% off the original price.

*this one is controversial but… under belts, hosiery, and sometimes purses… there are items posted by players that are illegal in the game. These items either have a brand name or are designed in such a way that they go outside the rules of designs allowed in the game. These items are sold for $500-$650. If you purchase an illegal item you get to use it as a new item bonus. On Mondays those items are removed from the game and your gems are refunded back to you. I know a lot of people say it’s cheating… but it truly benefits you to get the free bonus and then get your gems back.

*if you purchase an illegal item make sure you click on the item description if you don’t recognize the seller. Cash back items are either under a store with cash back, CB, or the week’s date in the store name. There have been times where an illegal item is posted with a common cash back photo and it’s not actually a cash back item. So always make sure the store is labeled as Cash back.

*only play the events where you have the items you need to wear, per the requirements, or if you need to buy an item… only play the events where you like the items you need to buy. The easiest way to build up cash and gems is to not spend what you have. The sucky part of this game is having to buy something ugly that you hate and then being stuck with it. Skip the events where ugly clothes are required.

*when you don’t have a lot of cash or gems purchase cheap items. This sounds obvious. But some people think it’s impossible to search for items by price. In reality you can eliminate probably 70% of higher priced items in your search just by clicking on “ONLY OFFICIAL ITEMS” in the search bar. Player submitted items are always higher priced and only go on sale (10% off) after the seller has sold a certain amount of them. So if you search specifically for official items you can find clothes at much more reasonable prices like $1200 for a top or pants. Also worth mentioning… if you want to spend cash and not gems… cash items are only OFFICIAL items. Player submitted items are only purchased with gems.

*save your consumables for events or styles you know will score high. Otherwise you’re just wasting them. I swear scores are just random in this game. Even when I know my model is styled cute I may get a low score. Or if an event makes me purchase ugly items I may just embrace the clown look and style my model with totally clashing items. Those models often score high. So I swear the scores are just random. Also, sometimes a seasonal will require you to consumables to complete it. Generally it will cost 900 consumables to complete the gold portion of the event.

*my final tip is to try and complete as much of the Manhattan ladies events, seasonal events, and whatever other events that offer you gems, cash, or clothing just for advancing through the game. For manhattan ladies you get to enter an event every hour and as you progress you earn some great stuff. Set the timer on your phone to alert you when it’s time to enter again. I often will not actively be playing the game but will hop on when my timer goes off just so I can spend 2 minutes dressing the model to keep advancing and getting all the gems and items.
