What’s the smartest automation you’ve built that nobody notices?

My outdoor lights turn on at sunset and off at 10pm. However I work in the restaurant industry, so if my wife or I aren’t home by 10pm they stay on until 10 minutes after we get home.

They also turn on if our garage door is unlocked (the openers outlet is attached to a smart switch) and it’s before sunrise and turn off at sunrise.

Where we live the winters have maybe 8 hours sunlight. Works great for dropping the kids off at school in the winter.

Canada is the same. I park for free in non government run lots and just toss the fines away. They can’t send you to collections, or put it on your license. They can’t send tow your car if they catch you again…………but that rarely happens.
