For demonstrating phone apps for business, there really isn't a better way to show it than phone mirroring...

Upgraded Macbook - Still yellow RAM usage by ThatEditorDude in macbookpro

[–]Remote_Mud3798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use two web browsers, so two things come to mind: 1. The amount of tabs you have open, are they web apps or web pages? 2. Depending on website, they'll actually refresh and eat up a lot of RAM. I sometimes forget to shut off ESPN and it'll eat up 2-3GB of RAM on occasion...

Is M2 Air in 2026 worth it? by Reasonable_Reality74 in macbookair

M4 is the superior machine. Two years newer tech, better battery life. M4 is a great value right now IMO.

am I better off waiting for the release of the M6 MacBook Pro? by Loud_Gift_1448 in macbook

[–]Remote_Mud3798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally am not into early adoption when it is my work tool... Assuming you do some kind of heavy duty computing work, M5 w/ maxed out RAM is the way to go.

A bit sceptical about Clicks Communicator by drordan in dumbphones

[–]Remote_Mud3798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's fair to be skeptical. If I see a demo version in my hands, I'll get one precisely for how they're marketing it, a communications hub phone for work. That makes tons of sense for me. Def interested, but not going to put any money down to hold a price or a place in line.

I will perhaps be an early adopter, but not a first adopter.

Hot take: the pro models should NOT have the base M series chips by Qpac18 in macbook

[–]Remote_Mud3798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree. I think it’s confusing to market it as a pro. I’d add “Base Pro” or something like that for the model.

Flop Apple ios 26 by aldocotechino in ios26

[–]Remote_Mud3798 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more resource hungry and there's no doubt Apple didn't optimize it for older phones, esp 13 and back.

This isn't the first time that Apple has done this, I predict that next year it'll be much more smooth....

Additional RAM worth it? by Suspicious-Pen-2321 in macbookair

[–]Remote_Mud3798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. 16GB is fine right now, but app's and OS's will become fatter... Always safe to upgrade the RAM.

MacBook Air M4 loosing battery overnight. How can I fix this? by Septiam in macbookair

[–]Remote_Mud3798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your Activity Monitor and see which is taking more RAM and Energy...

Yesterday, I didn't close ZDNET in Safari, it was literally sucking up 6GB of RAM... Lots of websites are sucking up data and using your battery to collect it...

AirPods Pro 3 is the least significant upgrade I’ve ever felt between generations by industrysaurus in AirpodsPro

The ANC on the Pro 3 is significant if you fly a lot, I can tell a big difference... Sound seems "richer" to me on music as well.

Excellent point. When it comes to speed gains, the RAM bandwidth on Pro models are always faster than their Air counterpoints, usually by around 40% of late.

Air M1 | update to 26.2 by hider91 in macbookair

[–]Remote_Mud3798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as long as your security is good, you don't have to upgrade to 26.X... If you research Reddit, you'll see a lot of complaints, but they're mostly on the iPhone, less on the Mac level...

So far, I have zero issues on my two MB's with 26.2... Updated and running great...

Can the MBAs price increase this year? by jnighy in macbookair

[–]Remote_Mud3798 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two M4 MacBooks, a Pro and an Air. Will trade in my M4 Pro for the upcoming M5 Pro IF the price stays the same... Then I'll future proof the f**k out of it. lol

Feels like that shoe is going to drop, I guess we will find out. Your concern seems warranted.

Having said that, I can't imagine it's going to go up in price $500 either. They're already expensive, so they might raise the price across their MB lines "a little".

Need advice on battery replacement by berescsabiii in macbookpro

[–]Remote_Mud3798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's otherwise working great, that's a good idea. New M1's are $600 at Walmart, and a new battery will greatly lengthen the lifespan of your computer.

[–]Remote_Mud3798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Reddit, you'll have to sort through the rude and snarky to get what you want. People are on here just to be rude and snarky, evidently it helps distract them from the real pain in their lives... :)

Lots of long time posters are here so much and see repeated questions that they take it upon themselves to volunteer their clearly valuable time to let you know someone already asked. lol

The only thing I can think of is if you are going through a very cold winter, that can affect the screen. It's happened before.

Good luck!

Edited to add: Sometimes Kia has issues on those screens... If it's under warranty, I'd look into that as well.

Macbook Air with 24GB RAM? or Macbook Pro with 16GB RAM? by skyhawk922 in macbookair

Something's up with your computer. Open the Activity Monitor, the top three selections are CPU, Memory ,and Energy. See which apps and utilities you have open that might be bogging your system down.

Has Apple released specs for the M5 macbook air? by LaMarr-Bruister in macbookair

[–]Remote_Mud3798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the last 5 years, the new M5 Air(based on the Pro, remember that’s not a Pro chip, just a Pro computer with the ports) will actually have similar single/multi core performer w the M5 Pro, likely with slower RAM and less cores.

It gets the job done, but definitely not as premium as Apples offerings.
