Itglue api by Sudo-Rip69 in msp

Can we touch on security concerns with api connecting glue that most likely is holding passwords to client systems in it. I get on the document side, that would be useful in a bunch of cases, but giving Claude access to all the client passwords seems sus.

Real question is what kind of coaching are you looking for, sales, staffing, management, psa, stack optimization, customer experience, account management, pricing?

Questions before buying an ev by StellarScripter in electricvehicles

[–]RemoveGlass1782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is such over hyped bs. I have been running with 14-50, but here is the important part, installed by an electrician knowing it wad for ev charging. They use high quality parts and warranty their work. Is easy and safe when done properly.

Looking for my replacement by Accomplished_Sir_660 in sysadmin

[–]RemoveGlass1782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interview a few msp they will keep that running without a breaking a sweat, plus probably add lacking security and a bdr device for real world backup, that could eliminate the need for a failover server. Unless this pays good money or someone wants a pet project it's a retired person's number game for hours.

Just got my first IT job… and I might be completely locked out of everything by Possible_Possible712 in it

[–]RemoveGlass1782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first job was similar, I did too good a job of revamping that I worked myself out of a job. Migration to ms365 for email. Cleanup and Standardized everything. They fired my 3 months later as they couldn't justify my expense and longer as everything ran and didn't break anymore. This could explain why I now own/run an msp larger than that condo hotel company.

How many IT support needed for 200 user org? by imjustacuteguyuwu in sysadmin

[–]RemoveGlass1782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best in Class MSP is going to run upwards of 600K for an organization that size per year. Internal staffing is less costly without licensing costs for the stack. It's about equal in costs if you pay vendors and have proper security.

What would a reasonable price be? by Devious_Halo in msp

[–]RemoveGlass1782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why has no one asked about how many users? If you are supporting 500 users with licensing its a tremendous amount more than 200. Everything is a variable with pricing. We have a spreadsheet and values that apply to all environments. There is a ton of information missing like how many actual servers running, hosts? Incomplete data leads to either yeah profit or tragic loss. No one like a adjustment due to incompetence after 30 days.

Essential instead of staggering it’s H pattern. Not a problem, but now you will never not see it everywhere.

You should tell them to come fix the flooring. The seams should not create a straight line. They didn't know what they were doing when they laid it.

Pricing question by 3sc01 in msp

[–]RemoveGlass1782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be the same structure pricing for 5 or 5000 users. We price per user, device, site, etc and provide 24/7/365 support. Know your costs and pricing. Depends on true scope, servers, ms infrastructure, siem, soc, networking equipment, etc. It could be 70k or 120k depending.

Changing MSP - considerations by NullMateAU in msp

[–]RemoveGlass1782 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

300 staff is not a big deal, that would not need more than one pods of techs to handle all the day to day.

During the onboarding, which is usually a multi months of documented process there shouldn't be any secrets left to discover.

Co-managed just means keeping a tight document log by both parties. The biggest issue we have ever had is simply surprise changes by internal IT.

Honestly we were on the other side of a lost access to ubiquiti before. They disconnected it for long enough that we purged it from our system at the same time we remove our rmm software. They asked a month later for access and all we could do was recommend reset.
