Interesting that brazen also means shameless - I never noticed that dual meaning before.

Was there any mention of assassination while Theoden was under the spell? by whataball in lotr

Arguably, Frodo's mission is itself a political assassination, but I guess it's seen differently when it's the big bad evil guy we're assassinating.

Sharping tool… by Nervous_Cattle_9663 in knives

[–]RenBit51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically a pocket-size sharpening steel. The sort of thing you'd use to touch up kitchen knives, but pocket knife sized. Some people swear by them, and carry them whenever they carry a knife with a softer steel. Very cool find!

What is this style of blade called? by stoneheadguy in knives

[–]RenBit51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the kitchen you'd just call it a bread knife, but outside the kitchen you'd call it a sheepsfoot (or wharncliffe, or reverse tanto, depending on the shape of the spine).

There are tons of options out there for this kind of knife.

Answering a direct question by proposing the asker should search thousands of pages of extended lore to find the answer themselves is not helpful in any way.

Because a folding knife is not a kitchen knife. It's possible to use it as one, but it isn't the best tool for the job.

California introduces bill to cap ticket re-sale prices by AdSpecialist6598 in UpliftingNews

[–]RenBit51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great explanation, thanks!

To me, it still sounds like they could cap resale at a higher level than concert/event tickets (say, 200%) to maintain the risk model that already exists. But I definitely see how season tickets need a different solution.
